Creative Festival 2025: Shaping Future Innovators Through STREAM Education

Creative Festival 2025

The Creative Festival 2025 is set to take place from July 19 to August 5, 2025, across seven cities in Japan: Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kitakyushu, and Naha. Organized by Human Academy Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Research Institute of STREAM Education for Creating the Future (RISE), this unique event aims to cultivate children's creativity and inquiry skills essential for navigating the future.

Event Overview

Supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Creative Festival promotes the STREAM education approach, which incorporates Science, Technology, Robotics, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. The initiative aims to bridge educational gaps across regions, offering hands-on workshops filled with the latest STREAM activities.

Key Highlights:

  • - Nationwide Impact: Targeting the educational disparities that often limit opportunities, this festival travels from the northernmost point of Hokkaido to the southern shores of Okinawa.
  • - Engaging Workshops: From robot programming to scientific explorations, participating children can enjoy meaningful learning experiences that enhance their creativity while having fun.
  • - Summer Research Fit: It's also an excellent opportunity for summer research projects, ideal for young minds eager to dive deeper into learning through play.

Features of the Creative Festival

A Festival for Future Innovators

By fostering creativity, the Creative Festival provides an essential and widespread platform for children to engage with STREAM education. Designed to ensure access for all children across Japan, each venue promises a full day of explorative learning experiences. The hands-on activities will enrich families’ summer research pursuits, emphasizing lessons learned through play.

Ministry of Education Support

The Ministry recognized the significant educational contributions of this event, especially in developing the next generation capable of facing unpredictable future challenges. As digital innovation grows, so does the importance of creative problem-solving skills, and the Creative Festival seeks to provide quality educational opportunities where students tackle open-ended questions and discover solutions for themselves.

Diverse Experience Programs

Interactive booths designed to stimulate curiosity and practical experiences will be prevalent throughout the festival. Participants can engage in activities such as:
  • - Robot Operation: Children can experience firsthand what it’s like to control various robots.
  • - Science Workshops: Hands-on experiments that inspire awe in the sciences.
  • - Programming Experiences: Learning coding basics while creating fun projects.

Children will leave the festival able to articulate their experiences, describing the joy of creating something new.

Student Showcases

One of the festival’s highlights includes a presentation format where children can display their projects—ranging from robots they constructed to original games created through programming. This is a unique opportunity to witness and appreciate young minds’ creativity and presentation skills.

Corporate Collaboration Booths

In collaboration with various companies, the festival will host programs that connect students with the world beyond the classroom. For example, at the Tokyo venue, children will participate in the e-Craft mini-workshop, gaining exposure to advanced technologies and societal challenges.

Moreover, notable figures like Tomotaka Takahashi, an acclaimed robotic creator, will attend and share insights with children in Fukuoka and Okinawa. He’ll inspire attendees by sharing the joys of creativity and the possibilities of their future.
