After its original building was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, it re-established itself as a charter school in 2006. Since then, under the SFA framework initiated in 2003, the school has continually refined its instructional practices and strengthened its systems to enhance student learning. Julie Wible, CEO of the Success for All Foundation, expressed her admiration for Hynes, stating that their commitment to the model and the hard work of educators has produced remarkable outcomes, including the expansion of two additional schools within the network. Similarly, Hynes-Parkview, which joined the network in 2021, realized a remarkable 39-point increase within four years.
