Ponche Kuba's New Look: A Fusion of Tradition and Modernity
Ponche Kuba has recently revealed an exciting new design for its packaging that pays homage to its heritage while signaling a commitment to sustainability and modern tastes. Established in 1942 by Don Jaime A. J. Sprock, Ponche Kuba is a beloved Caribbean rum cream liqueur known for its rich flavors and creamy texture. The updated packaging, hitting select markets this October, brings a fresh aesthetic without compromising the cherished recipe that has delighted consumers for over seven decades.
A Sustainable Evolution
One of the most significant benefits of the new packaging is its environmental impact. The updated 700ml bottle has a refined silhouette and has successfully reduced its weight from 630 grams to 550 grams, resulting in an impressive 24.4% decrease in carbon dioxide emissions from 13.6kg to 10.3kg CO₂ equivalents per case. This reduction aligns with Ponche Kuba's dedication to becoming more environmentally responsible while still delivering the premium quality the brand is known for.
Modern Caribbean Identity
The new label design is a celebration of Caribbean culture, showcasing vibrant colors and elements inspired by local flora. The iconic red associated with the brand has been revitalized together with contemporary design motifs, creating an eye-catching look that resonates with a modern audience. "Ponche Kuba's refreshed packaging is an evolution for the brand that celebrates our Caribbean roots and enhances our commitment to sustainability," said Antoine Couvreur, Managing Director of Mount Gay Distilleries.
Unchanged Recipe, Unmatched Taste
Despite the enhanced packaging, the Ponche Kuba liqueur maintains its original recipe. Renowned for its delightful creaminess and sweetness, this rum liqueur boasts rich, spiced notes that remain true to its unique family-style creation. Bottled at a 9% ABV, Ponche Kuba can be enjoyed in various settings — whether sipped neat, served over ice, or as a key ingredient in tantalizing cocktails.
Signature Serves:
- - Bajan Cream: Fill a rocks glass with ice, pour in 3 oz of Ponche Kuba, and top with fresh grated nutmeg.
- - Kuba Colada: Blend 1.5 oz of Ponche Kuba, 1 oz of coconut cream, 3 oz of pineapple juice, 0.5 oz of simple syrup, and ice. Serve in a poco grande glass, garnished with a pineapple slice and a straw.
