Fairway Home Mortgage Encourages Generosity During Giving Tuesday Event

Fairway Home Mortgage Champions Giving Tuesday

As the holiday season approaches, Fairway Home Mortgage is not only focusing on business success but also on the importance of giving back. On December 2nd, the mortgage company is encouraging its employees to participate in Giving Tuesday, a global day dedicated to generosity that occurs on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. This event was created as a response to the commercialization of the holiday shopping season, serving as a reminder for people to give back through charitable acts, donations, and volunteering.

Julie Fry, the Chief Human Resources Officer at Fairway, emphasized the significance of this day, stating, "Giving Tuesday is a counterweight to shopping days like Black Friday. It's an opportunity for our teammates to remember and contribute to the nonprofits and organizations we have within Fairway that help people in need, both through volunteering and by giving money." Fairway Home Mortgage has a commitment to social impact, supporting various nonprofits that rely on employee contributions for funding.

Among the organizations Fairway supports is the American Warrior Initiative (AWI), which focuses on aiding veterans, active-duty military members, and first responders through charitable giving, education, and community outreach. One of AWI's most notable initiatives provides trained Service Dogs to veterans who need their companionship, having successfully placed over 435 service dogs in the past nine years.

Another organization benefiting from Fairway’s support is Fairway Cares, which assists employees and their families during tough times such as critical illness, physical trauma, or loss of a loved one. The impact of Fairway Cares is substantial, having delivered nearly 15,000 care packages and over 2,200 financial grants to families in need. In 2025 alone, the organization distributed more than 1,400 care packages and granted over 200 financial aids. Additionally, in a heartwarming initiative, Fairway employees delivered over 2,000 Fairway Cares bears to children’s hospitals, memory care facilities, and treatment centers across 17 states over the last sixteen months.

Steve Jacobson, the CEO and Founder of Fairway, captured the heart of the organization's mission by stating, "Mortgages are what we do, not who we are. Ultimately, we do the mortgages so we can support our nonprofits and other organizations that help people in need who live in the communities we serve. That's who we are. And Giving Tuesday is a great time to demonstrate that support."

The spirit of generosity at Fairway extends beyond just Giving Tuesday. In 2025, the company made significant contributions to disaster relief efforts, including a $1 million donation following the devastating flooding in Texas in July. Fairway also actively supports food banks, drug treatment centers, and various other nonprofits nationwide.

Giving Tuesday is one of the most crucial days of the year for charities, providing them with a much-needed boost in contributions at the year’s end. Fairway Home Mortgage is committed to this cause, and employees are encouraged to engage actively in giving, highlighting a culture of care and community within the company.
