Grand Finale of the Global PHBS-CJBS 2024



On December 5, 2024, Shenzhen, China, served as the stage for the grand finale of the PHBS-CJBS 2024 Global Pitch Competition, a prominent event co-hosted by the Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) and the Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS). This year's edition attracted 506 startups worldwide, culminating in a competitive showcase of innovation.

Following rigorous screening and initial presentations, the top 36 ventures were selected for the semifinals. Ultimately, ten finalists representing diverse fields—from artificial intelligence to biotechnology—competed for the prestigious titles assessed by a panel composed of scholars, investors, and entrepreneurs.

The competition was fierce. Among the awarded startups, Daosheng Biological (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd, BrainThink, YUANWEISHIJIE, Synphage, SIPIMO Technology Group, and Zhiwei Data received third place honors. The second prize was awarded to I2Cool, Wayo, and XZD Material Technology. Emerging victorious, Shanmu (Shenzhen) Biotechnology Co., Ltd, a startup founded in 2021 in London, distinguished itself by developing an AI-driven, automated spectral robot no larger than a computer mouse. This innovative device is capable of performing quantitative analysis on over ten different urinary molecules to facilitate personalized health management.

In parallel with the pitch competition, the event also hosted the PHBS-CJBS Entrepreneurship and Venture Capital Forum, which announced a strategic partnership among PHBS, the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC). This alliance aims to enhance international cooperation and the quality development of the innovative ecosystem in the Greater Bay Area, encompassing Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau.
