Chang's Contributions to Quantum Research



Professor Ching-Ray Chang's influence in the quantum research landscape cannot be overstated. Serving as the Distinguished Chair Professor at Chung Yuan Christian University, Chang is also a vital member of the Quantum Technology Advisory Committee at Foxconn, providing leadership that directs the company's quantum technology roadmap.

Over the years, Professor Chang has actively contributed to elevating Foxconn’s research and development potential, particularly in the production of ion trap quantum computers. Previously serving as a senior executive and acting president at the National Taiwan University, Chang laid the foundational stones for quantum computing in academia. He established the NTU-IBM Quantum Hub, which has emerged as one of the most active quantum research centers in Asia, and successfully integrated quantum computing into the official curriculum at NTU.

As the founder of the Quantum Information Center at Chung Yuan Christian University, he has led national programs for quantum education, significantly influencing quantum education at both school and university levels. Besides his academic accolades, Professor Chang is also the founding president of the Taiwan Association of Quantum Computing and Information Technology (TAQCIT).
