Online Training for Supporters of Internet and Gaming Addiction

Yadorigi Counseling Space, located in Fukuoka City, Japan, will host an online training session aimed at supporters of individuals struggling with internet and gaming addiction on December 13, 2025. This event is coordinated by the Japan Mac Non-Profit Organization, led by Director Masayuki Okada.

The training will feature expert speakers including Dr. Makoto Hiejima, Director of Koyodai Hospital, and Mr. Masaki Maezono, a mental health social worker at Kurihama Medical Center. They, along with Yadorigi staff, will provide insights into the fundamental knowledge regarding internet and gaming addiction, discussing not only why individuals become addicted but also how to support both the affected individuals and their families effectively.

Furthermore, attendees will benefit from personal accounts shared by those who have faced internet dependence as well as interactive group work focused on case studies, aimed at providing practical knowledge applicable in various support settings.

Format

The training will be facilitated via Zoom, comprising:
1. Pre-event video release (available after registration until early February 2026)
2. Live broadcast on the event day
3. Recorded sessions available later (end of December 2025 to early February 2026)

Registration Fees

• - On-day attendance & recorded viewing

- Free for residents of Fukuoka City
- 4,000 yen for non-residents
- Continuing education points for clinical psychologists will be applied for

Note: The recorded session will not include Dr. Hiejima’s lectures, personal accounts, or case study discussions. Continuing education points are applicable only for participants attending on the day.
