TOKYO 23: Celebrating 10 Years of Jordan Brand Culture with a Grand Renovation

TOKYO 23: A Transformation After a Decade

On July 18, 2026, the highly anticipated renovation and grand reopening of the concept store "TOKYO 23," operated by atmos and dedicated to the Jordan Brand, marks a significant milestone in street culture and basketball. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, this reimagined space merges the history of the Jordan Brand with the vibrant street culture that atmos has cultivated since its inception.

The newly designed TOKYO 23 integrates elements of basketball, traditional Japanese aesthetics, and boutique-style shopping, creating a truly unique atmosphere. The store predominantly features a warm brown color palette complemented by classic Jordan tones, making the space inviting and dynamic. Among the standout features are basketball hoops, antique furniture, and repurposed gym materials creatively used in display cases and tables. Even the benches incorporate basketball-inspired cushions, while traditional igusa (Japanese rush grass) finds a place in the shoe and apparel display walls, all embodying the theme of 'Remix' that flows throughout the store.

Additionally, a newly established workshop area allows customers to create their own original apparel using blank bodies and patches purchased on-site, fostering creativity and personal expression among visitors.

The café area, a focal point of the store, has been curated by Ryuhei Takeuchi of "BAGGAGE COFFEE". This renovation enhances the café's role as a communal space for enthusiasts of the Jordan Brand, basketball, and street culture. Visitors can expect a welcoming environment where they can relax, socialize, and enjoy quality coffee.

The redesign is not just about aesthetics; it’s also about creating new experiences. With an emphasis on rearranging and harmonizing existing elements, atmos has succeeded in crafting a space that resonates with authenticity and cultural value.

A Special Launch Event

In celebration of the grand reopening, a limited-edition T-shirt designed by artist Takuya Kamioka will be launched, featuring a graphic inspired by the colors of the Yoyogi Park basketball courts. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view Kamioka's art displayed throughout the shop. This unique crossover exemplifies atmos's commitment to showcasing innovative art and culture.

The grand opening will also spotlight the AIR JORDAN 1 HIGH OG ‘Love of the Game’ collection, symbolizing a heartfelt letter to basketball penned by Michael Jordan upon his retirement. This special edition is an homage to his legacy, capturing the essence of love and respect in basketball. Customers who purchase items from the ‘Love of the Game’ collection during the first three days of the reopening will receive a canvas tote bag featuring custom designs via silkscreen, stamps, and handy ink jet printing. It’s a limited opportunity to take home a piece of the TOKYO 23 experience.
