Grainger and the American Red Cross Celebrate 25 Years of Partnership

Grainger, a prominent distributor of maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) products, proudly announced the celebration of 25 years of partnership with the American Red Cross. This enduring alliance has focused on advancing disaster preparedness and response efforts throughout the United States, where the Red Cross addresses over 60,000 disasters each year.

Melanie Tinto, Senior VP and Chief Human Resources Officer at Grainger, expressed gratitude for the partnership, stating, "For 25 years, Grainger has been proud to partner with the American Red Cross because keeping our communities safe and resilient is deeply connected to our purpose: We Keep The World Working®." She added that the partnership has made a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families, especially during times of need.

As a part of the Disaster Responder Program, Grainger has played a crucial role by providing both financial support and in-kind donations ahead of potential disasters. This proactive approach ensures that the Red Cross has the necessary infrastructure, volunteers, technology, and resources to deliver critical assistance during crises. Since 2001, Grainger has contributed over $21.6 million in cash and products, which notably includes more than 170,000 smoke alarms for the national Home Fire Campaign.

"Twenty-five years of partnership with Grainger is a testament to its steadfast commitment to the people and communities we serve," noted Anne McKeough, Chief Development Officer at the American Red Cross. With disasters becoming more frequent and severe, she emphasized that Grainger's support is vital in providing essential resources when families are most vulnerable.

Throughout this partnership, Grainger has supported over 40 national volunteer deployments through the Ready When the Time Comes® (RWTC) program. This includes helping communities affected by hurricanes such as Katrina and Maria. Additionally, the company’s team members have positively impacted efforts by mapping over 90,000 buildings through the Missing Maps program, aimed at aiding humanitarian efforts for at-risk populations. Other significant volunteer initiatives encompass running blood drives, assembling comfort kits, and offering training in hands-only CPR.

Grainger continues to uphold its reputation as a leader in servicing more than 4.6 million customers globally with innovative MRO products and value-added solutions. Their commitment to community service, particularly through partnerships with organizations like the American Red Cross, underscores their purpose-driven culture. With a reported revenue of $17.9 billion in 2025, Grainger remains dedicated to enhancing community resilience and disaster response, looking forward to many more years of impactful collaboration.
