New Pacific Metals and Carangas Community Sign Notable Framework Agreement for Project Cooperation

New Pacific Metals and Carangas Community Forge Strong Partnership

In a significant move, New Pacific Metals Corp. has announced a pivotal Framework Agreement with the Carangas community, known as TIOC Carangas. This collaboration is set in the backdrop of New Pacific’s ambitious Carangas silver-gold project located in the Oruro Department of Bolivia. The agreement underscores a shared commitment to transparency and mutual benefits, aiming to foster a productive relationship as the project progresses toward production.

Framework Agreement Highlights

The Framework Agreement establishes essential terms that outline the collaborative expectations between New Pacific and TIOC Carangas. It is designed to prioritize transparent communication and foster a foundation of mutual respect, fairness, and long-term cooperation. This agreement is not merely a formal document; it represents a critical step forward in integrating community priorities into the development process.

Economic and Social Benefits

One of the primary goals of this partnership is to ensure that the Carangas project will yield tangible economic and social benefits not only for the local community but also for the broader region of Oruro and the shareholders of New Pacific. By adhering to regulations and prioritizing local needs, the company aims to position itself as a responsible and community-focused operator.

Community Engagement and Support

To honor the agreement, New Pacific has committed to:
  • - Respecting Ancestors and Ancestral Rights: This includes acknowledging the property rights of TIOC Carangas over their lands, aligning with Bolivian law and international standards set by the United Nations.
  • - Adhering to Environmental Standards: Operations will comply with local environmental regulations, ensuring minimal ecological impact.
  • - Fostering Economic Opportunities: New Pacific promises to create mutually beneficial social and economic developments, including community health initiatives, education supplies, and support for vulnerable community members.
  • - Dedicated Community Development Fund: The company will contribute annually to a fund focused on community development, correlating with the project's advancement stages.
  • - Supporting Local Businesses: There will be an emphasis on sourcing services and supplies from local businesses to bolster regional economic activity.
  • - Community Resettlement Plan: A plan is in place to eventually relocate the Carangas village to an area with improved infrastructure and living standards.

Active Community Participation

In return, TIOC Carangas has pledged to:
  • - Engagement in Public Consultations: They will actively take part in all consultations organized by government authorities related to the project, ensuring the community's voice is heard.
  • - Collaboration on Project Implementation: TIOC Carangas is committed to working with New Pacific to identify and resolve any arising challenges, and to help facilitate the project's exploration, permitting, and eventual production phases.
  • - Granting Access: The community will permit unrestricted access to the project area for operational needs, facilitating an efficient development process.

Next Steps for Project Development

The Framework Agreement marks a vital milestone that enhances trust and align community aspirations with the project’s objectives. With this partnership in place, New Pacific anticipates successfully finishing the prior consultation process required by the Administrative Jurisdictional Mining Authority (AJAM). Following this, the company will seek the necessary approvals to convert exploration licenses into mining permits.

Once the mining permits are granted, activities will pivot to conducting a feasibility study for the Carangas project. This includes infill drilling intended to upgrade known resources and exploring deeper mineralization zones. Looking ahead, the 2026 drilling campaign is projected to total over 30,000 metres, representing a concerted effort to optimize the project's potential.
