Explore Japan with Local Soups: Second Edition Launching Soon!

Warm Your Soul with Japan's Regional Soups

On November 25th, 2023, Seven-Eleven Japan will commence the second edition of its nationwide campaign, “Explore Japan with Local Soups.” This initiative will roll out three delicious types of regional soups inspired by favorite local flavors from Hokkaido, Akita, and Osaka, making authentic tastes easily accessible to everyone across the country this winter season.

Unique Flavors from Three Different Regions

The second iteration of this soup journey features:
1. Suage Supervised Soup Curry from Hokkaido
2. Kiritanpo Nabe Style Soup from Akita
3. Chitose Main Store Supervised Niku-sui from Osaka

As the temperatures drop, these savory options are designed to warm both body and spirit. From cozy family gatherings to chilly evenings at home, these soups deliver a gourmet experience without compromising on ease of preparation.

Authentic Taste Inspired by Local Favorites

The first soup is a rendition of the beloved Suage Soup Curry, a specialty that gained a loyal following since its debut in Sapporo in the 1970s. This dish represents the soul food of Hokkaido residents and is crafted with a focus on quality ingredients. Each element—from the spices to the fresh vegetables and chicken—is meticulously prepared to ensure a rich depth of flavor that brings the experience of dining at Suage right into your home.

  • - Price: ¥398 (tax included: ¥429.84)
  • - Availability: Nationally, starting November 25th

Next, we have the Kiritanpo Nabe Style Soup, which has been innovatively created to capture the smoky aroma and chewy texture that characterizes this traditional dish. As each piece is skillfully formed and baked in-house, the result is a product that boasts both authenticity and convenience. The chewy rice cakes maintain their shape even when simmered, soaking up the delightful broth for a fulfilling taste experience.

Lastly, the Chitose Main Store Supervised Niku-sui is an exceptional broth-based soup born from Osaka’s famous meat udon, with the noodles replaced by thinly sliced beef simmered in a rich dashi made from quality ingredients including katsuobushi and kombu. This soup allows you to relish the exquisite meat flavor without the fibrous texture of noodles.
