Celebrating Icons of Homebuilding: 2026 Inductees to Hall of Legends in Southern California

Celebrating Icons of Homebuilding

The Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIASC) is set to honor remarkable pioneers at its 2026 Hall of Legends. This prestigious event recognizes individuals who have profoundly impacted the homebuilding industry, shaping communities and advancing housing within Southern California. While these legends often work behind the scenes, their contributions resonate powerfully in the community.

The Hall of Legends initiative was established in 2023, coinciding with BIASC’s centennial anniversary. It's an annual celebration that pays homage to outstanding individuals whose careers have significantly influenced the industry.

The 2026 Inductees

This year's cohort comprises a diverse group of experts across many sectors of the homebuilding landscape. Their expertise ranges from land development and engineering to marketing and architectural design. The inductees for the 2026 Hall of Legends are:

  • - Dave Bartlett – Brookfield Residential
  • - Saeed Bekam – Gouvis Engineering Consulting Group
  • - Jim Boyd – President and Principal Consultant, James Boyd Consulting Ltd.; Toll Brothers (Retired)
  • - Renee Self-Gibbons – Chameleon Design

  • - Andy Henderson – The Henderson Law Firm
  • - Dana Kovach – Kovach Marketing
  • - Richard Lambros – Southern California Group

Each inductee has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills that extend well beyond their respective organizations. Jeff Montejano, CEO of BIASC, emphasizes this by stating that each individual’s contribution has been crucial in advancing the entire homebuilding sector through decades filled with innovation, collaboration, mentorship, and dedicated service.

A Legacy of Leadership

Mike Balsamo, Chair of the BIASC Governing Board, remarked on the significance of recognizing such extraordinary leaders. The Hall of Legends not only honors past achievements but also inspires future generations to continue striving for excellence in homebuilding.

“Our 2026 Hall of Legends inductees represent the pinnacle of our industry,” Balsamo commented. “Through their vision, commitment, and integrity, they have played a critical role in enhancing homebuilding and community development in Southern California.” Their work has been instrumental in creating housing opportunities for numerous families and establishing a strong legacy for expertise within the profession.

A Celebration of Achievement

The formal recognition of the inductees will occur at the BIASC Orange County Chapter and Los Angeles County/Ventura Chapter Board of Directors Installation Gala on October 23, 2026, in San Juan Capistrano, California. Furthermore, JoAnne Williams will receive her honor at the Building Industry Show on September 3 in Indian Wells, showcasing the community’s commitment to acknowledging excellence in homebuilding.

The BIASC Hall of Legends serves as a permanent tribute to individuals whose distinguished careers have not only elevated the profession but also reinforced the mission of promoting responsible growth, providing housing opportunities, and maintaining industry excellence across Southern California.
