In an inspiring showcase of creativity and innovation, Family Rental Service Co., based in Hachioji, Tokyo, has partnered with Nihon Kogakuin Hakkoji School’s Manga and Animation department for a unique project aimed at revolutionizing disaster response. The recent design contest invited students to create concepts for a disaster relief container vehicle that would support laundry services during emergencies. The winners were recently announced and awarded for their exceptional contributions.

Recognizing Talent and Innovation

The contest culminated in the announcement of one grand prize winner, two excellent award recipients, and ten honorable mentions. The awarded designs are not only imaginative but also pragmatic, catering to the pressing needs of disaster-stricken environments. Among the innovative designs, the grand prize was awarded to Mitsuki Onoda for his design titled "Circulating Laundry," which impressed judges with its thoughtful and futuristic approach to disaster relief.

The two excellent award designs were titled "Nature's Cycle" by Momoka Takayanagi and "Simple" by Shinya Matsuyama, both of which presented compelling ideas for how laundry services could be integrated into disaster recovery efforts.

According to the project framework, the designs were based on the company's advanced laundry water recycling system, the Ocean Loop System® (OLS). The theme encouraged participants to consider how to embody concepts of safety and hope through their vehicle designs.
