Stegra Announces New Directors to Lead the Future of Green Steel Production

On November 4, 2025, Stegra held an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM), during which four new members were appointed to the Board of Directors: Aidan de Brunner, Lars Fromm, Annemarie Manger, and Emmanuel Rodriguez. This strategic move comes as Stegra gears up to establish the world’s first large-scale green steel plant in Boden, which is poised to set new standards in sustainable steel production.

The appointments follow prior nominations made public on October 20, and the board expressed unanimous support for these selections at the meeting. Shaun Kingsbury, Chairman of Stegra's Board, remarked on the unanimous decision, expressing confidence in the extensive experience that the new directors bring to the table.

Annemarie Manger steps onto the board with over 30 years of leadership in significant industrial projects across Europe. Her experience includes nearly two decades at Fluor, where she led large-scale engineering, procurement, and construction projects. Manger is also recognized for her pivotal role at Tata Steel Netherlands, where she drove the company’s transition towards hydrogen-based steelmaking. At present, she serves as the Program Director for the Aramis CCS project—a collaborative initiative between EBN, Gasunie, Shell, and TotalEnergies that aims to develop one of Europe’s largest carbon capture and storage platforms in the North Sea. Additionally, she is involved with GroenvermogenNL, an organization promoting green hydrogen and circular value chains in the Netherlands.

Lars Fromm is joining the board as a Partner at Altor, filling the position previously occupied by Klas Johansson, who has moved to a Senior Advisor role within the company. With his expertise, Fromm is expected to contribute significantly to Stegra's strategic direction.

With the addition of these accomplished professionals, the new structure of the Stegra Board of Directors comprises Aidan de Brunner, Pierre Etienne Franc, Lars Fromm, Henrik Henriksson, Shaun Kingsbury (Chairman), Carl-Erik Lagercrantz, Matthew Lim, Annemarie Manger, Harald Mix, and Emmanuel Rodriguez. This diverse group brings together a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be instrumental as Stegra progresses toward its goal of revolutionizing the steel industry through sustainable practices.

In an era where environmental impacts are under scrutiny, Stegra’s commitment to green steel production aligns not only with market demands but also with global sustainability goals. The company's focus on green technologies illustrates a pioneering spirit that the newly formed board is set to bolster.

The transition towards sustainable industrial practices is not just about compliance; it is about leadership in innovation. Stegra's strategic appointments indicate a decisive step toward consolidating its position as a leader in the clean steel production domain. As the council convenes and strategizes, stakeholders and the community await the tangible outcomes of this progressive governance.
