Embrace the Opportunity: Join the Local Challenge Program in Kitagawa Village
In a small village surrounded by the majestic Shikoku mountain range and flowing streams, North-Kitagawa stands out not only for its natural beauty but also for its rich tradition as a leading producer of yuzu citrus. With a population of just 1,000, this quaint locale is eyeing a revitalization by launching the
Local Challenge Program in Kitagawa Village. Designed for anyone curious about revitalization and local business development, this initiative is being led by

Background Context
Despite its status as a top yuzu producer, North-Kitagawa faces severe population decline, having dropped to one-fifth of its historical peak by 2020. Participants in this program will have a chance to explore various themes that could contribute to this effort, such as:
- - High-value products made from yuzu.
- - Hospitality and dining programs using vacant houses and lands.
- - Experience programs harnessing local resources.
