Proya Cosmetics Crowned at IFSCC 2025 for Innovative Research in Beauty Science

Proya Cosmetics Shines at the IFSCC 2025 Congress

In an impressive showcase of innovation, Proya Cosmetics, a prominent name in China's beauty industry, received the coveted "IFSCC 2025 Top 10 Papers of Basic Research Award." This prestigious honor was unveiled at the IFSCC Award Ceremony held on September 18, 2025, where Proya stood out as the sole Chinese cosmetics company among nearly 1,200 global submissions.

The spotlight was on their award-winning paper titled "Bioactive Compound Discovery for Mitochondrial Enhancement and Skin Aging Prevention: A Deep Learning-Aided Screening." Dr. Wei Jihua, a Senior Scientist at Proya's Hangzhou Longwu R&D Center, presented their pioneering research at the IFSCC Congress, which took place on September 17.

Dr. Wei remarked, "This award is a significant recognition of our collaborative research with Zhejiang University and highlights the transformative potential of AI in the discovery of anti-aging bioactives." The research aimed to enhance mitochondrial function and combat skin aging using advanced technologies like high-throughput screening integrated with deep learning. This innovative approach dramatically enhances the efficiency and precision of research and development.

In this cutting-edge study, Proya Cosmetics, in partnership with Zhejiang University, employed AI-driven techniques to pinpoint natural compounds that bolster mitochondrial health and slow down aging. Validated through high-throughput image analysis and biological assays, their findings led to the development of Cellergy pro™.

Launched in August 2025, Cellergy pro™ is part of Proya's upgraded Energy Series 2.0 and comprises a toning essence, repair lotion, and moisturizing cream. This product line exemplifies a significant leap in AI-enhanced skincare methodologies.

The presence at the 35th IFSCC Congress was led by Proya's Founder and Chairman, Mr. Hou Juncheng, who steered the R&D delegation while showcasing 14 pivotal research projects. Apart from the award-winning paper, Proya also displayed 13 scientific posters, which covered various domains, such as raw material discovery and innovative methods for evaluating skin and scalp conditions.

Mr. Hou expressed his sentiments stating, "As the only Chinese cosmetics company to receive an IFSCC 2025 Top 10 Papers of Basic Research Award, this recognition validates our long-standing commitment to scientific and technological innovation." He further emphasized Proya's objective of strengthening its R&D framework globally, thus fostering progress and advancing the international presence of China's beauty sector.

Dr. Huang Hu, Chief Scientific Officer at Proya, underscored the significance of this achievement: "The IFSCC Congress is widely regarded as the 'Olympics of cosmetic science.' Our paper's selection from such a vast pool of submissions is a historic milestone for a Chinese R&D team." Dr. Huang emphasized the company's focus on enhancing their research capacity to empower their brands and expand the global influence of Chinese beauty products.
