The Allure of Home Fragrance Shines at the 137th Canton Fair
Enchanting Home Fragrances Take Center Stage at the Canton Fair
From April 23 to 27, 2025, Hall 19.1 in Area D of the Canton Fair Complex was not only filled with eye-catching displays but also captivating scents, as exhibitors showcased an array of home fragrances, candles, and lifestyle decor products during Phase 2 of the 137th China Import and Export Fair, better known as the Canton Fair.
The global home fragrance market was estimated to be worth $11 billion in 2024, with a projected annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.8%, expected to reach nearly $17.27 billion by 2032. As this market expands, Chinese companies are emerging as key players, merging innovation with significant production capabilities to meet diverse global demands.
One such example is Shanghai Outstanding Industry Co., Ltd., a company specialized in fragrance products. Its CEO, Michael Lu, noted that during this session, they introduced 12 new series that emphasize the importance of research and development. The product designs also focus on aesthetics, enhancing living spaces. Lu stated that consumers are increasingly leaning toward “organic,” “natural,” and “environmentally friendly” fragrances, prompting the company to launch its first carbon-neutral household perfume product.
Similarly, Litbright Candle (Shijiazhuang) Co., Ltd. is expanding its presence through continuous innovation. General Manager Sophia Lee shared that the company actively develops new product lines and presents each new series at the fair to engage with both loyal and potential buyers. She pointed out that global demand is not only rising but also becoming more sophisticated, with growing interest in fruity, woody, and even gourmand fragrances.
As one of the world's leading trade platforms, the Canton Fair continues to play a critical role in the global perfume industry’s development. For Chinese fragrance manufacturers looking to expand their global footprint, the fair remains a pivotal meeting point. Lu mentioned that they meet most of their customers at the fair, highlighting, “At the Canton Fair, our products naturally attract buyers from niche markets around the world, ensuring the right scent, design, and values reach the right customers.”
Lee, also a long-time exhibitor, added, “The Canton Fair has established a solid reputation worldwide. It is the go-to place for international buyers seeking new products.” The consistent participation of companies from the fragrance industry underscores how the Canton Fair connects Chinese enterprises with global markets, fostering enduring partnerships and serving as both a launchpad and a global stage for the burgeoning perfume industry.
The continuing engagement of these companies illustrates the fair’s vital function in promoting new innovations and enhancing visibility for products in the home fragrance sector. As consumer preferences evolve, the Canton Fair stands as a beacon for discovering the latest trends in fragrances, positioning itself strategically within an industry that is poised for growth and transformation in the years to come.
