International MICE Summit 2025: A Turning Point for the Global Events Sector

The International MICE Summit 2025 (IMS25) has officially commenced in Riyadh, marking a significant turn for the global Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry. This prestigious event has drawn over 3,000 attendees, far surpassing the anticipated 2,000 participants, reflecting an unparalleled interest from global leaders in the business tourism and events realm. With the announcement of 20 commercial agreements and MoUs, the summit signifies a new era of investment and transformation within the sector.

Among the key highlights of the opening day, six leading global companies, including Messe Frankfurt, Koelnmesse, and MCH Group, confirmed their plans to establish new offices in Saudi Arabia. This move is expected to bolster the country’s burgeoning MICE sector, enhancing its status as a central meeting point for international business events. Notably, these companies boast a combined global revenue exceeding USD 9 billion, underscoring the substantial confidence in Saudi Arabia as a regional leader.

This summit also saw the unveiling of the 2025 Saudi Venue Infrastructure Report by the Saudi Conventions and Exhibitions General Authority (SCEGA), which reported a stunning 32% year-on-year increase in venue capacities across 923 accredited venues in the country. Since 2018, the exhibition space has expanded 320%, now encompassing over 300,520 square meters, a clear indicator of the Kingdom’s ongoing investments aligned with its Vision 2030 reform agenda.
