LOFT Launches Green Project 2025 to Promote Sustainable Living and Eco-Consciousness

LOFT Green Project 2025: Starting with What We Can Do

In June, coinciding with Environmental Month, LOFT is launching the LOFT GREEN PROJECT MONTH starting May 31, featuring the campaign LOFT GREEN PROJECT SUSTAINABLE BEAUTY & LIFE 2025, available at all LOFT stores and their online platform. LOFT has made significant strides since the initiation of the LOFT GREEN PROJECT in the fall of 2021, under the motto, "Using the Power of Goods to Make Life and the Earth Happier." This initiative aims to encourage reflection on environmental challenges through everyday items and promote activities that lead to a well-being lifestyle.

Key Themes of the Campaign

During the campaign, products will be categorized under three primary themes: Environmental Consideration, Consideration for People, Communities, and Society, and a Recycling Program.

Since November 2021, LOFT has rolled out a Container Recycling Program focusing on collecting cosmetic containers. In 2022, they expanded their efforts to include textile recycling. LOFT collaborates with partners to enhance recycling efforts, such as collecting unique containers from cosmetic brands and implementing a recycling initiative for pens with stationery manufacturers.

Recycling Programs

Since the launch of the LOFT GREEN PROJECT Recycling Program, LOFT has successfully collected approximately 5.9 tons of cosmetic containers across its 177 stores as of April 2025. The collected polypropylene materials are recycled into shopping baskets made from 5% reprocessed material, which will be available at Ginza LOFT starting September 2024.

The BIOLOGIC LOOP initiative for textile recovery has also achieved 6.5 tons collected from seven stores. Through this partnership, LOFT will also sell their original bags made from 100% recycled RETEXPET® starting in May 2023.

Other ongoing programs include a sustainable initiative led by Nature's Way across 31 stores and La Roche-Posay's container recycling effort at 176 locations. Initiatives for writing instruments are also in place, involving Pilot Corporation's recycling program in 103 stores.

Collaborative Efforts to Benefit Communities

LOFT works closely with regional governments to donate surplus stock, ensuring support for local communities while promoting their JIMOTO LOFT initiative, which showcases local products and activities. As a part of the 2025 Zero Heat Stroke initiative, LOFT aims to contribute positively to climate change action under SDGs.

Conclusion

The LOFT GREEN PROJECT 2025 is a significant step towards fostering a sustainable lifestyle and increasing awareness about environmental issues. LOFT continues to serve as a catalyst for change, empowering customers to actively participate in creating a better future for our planet.
