The Investing in Young Businesses in Africa – Women Entrepreneurship for Africa (IYBA-WE4A) Programme has officially launched its second cohort aimed at supporting over 1,000 women-led businesses across Africa. This initiative is a collaboration among several global development leaders including the European Union (EU), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF).

Following the success of the inaugural cohort that provided funding of USD $3.99 million to 751 women-led green businesses, the program is set to expand its reach. Open for applications from October 6, 2025, until January 25, 2026, successful applicants will receive USD $5,000 as non-refundable seed capital along with a suite of supportive measures tailored to foster their business growth.

The targeted sectors for this year's funding encompass vital areas such as sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, eco-tourism, and more.
