Park 24 Group Achieves Silver Certification in LGBTQ+ Inclusion
Recently, Park 24 Group, which includes seven companies, received the
Silver certification in the
PRIDE Indicator 2025. This recognition highlights their commitment to creating a workplace where sexual minorities, including the LGBTQ+ community, can thrive. The group, headquartered in Shinagawa, Tokyo, led by CEO Koichi Nishikawa, is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that promotes the success of all individuals.
In 2021, Park 24 established long-term sustainability goals focused on enhancing the participation of diverse talents within the company. The primary aim is to cultivate a workplace where everyone can express their unique selves and feel empowered. Over the years, the group has woven various initiatives into its culture, including the development of a human rights policy and educational programs for employees. Moreover, they have established a DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) consultation desk to address workplace concerns.
A significant milestone in their inclusivity efforts was the launch of the
PALETTE community, designed to support discussions and learning around sexual diversity. This initiative has served as a platform for hosting workshops and events where employees can share opinions and collaborate on how to improve workplace inclusivity.
This year, further advancements were made with the introduction of the
Park 24 Group Familyship System, which acknowledges diverse family structures. Under this initiative, employees in de facto unions or same-sex partnerships can access internal corporate systems equivalent to those available for married couples under the law. This new program promotes equality and representation, ensuring that all employees feel valued and included.
In celebration of this ongoing commitment, Park 24 Group organized the
Park 24 Group Pride Month, aimed at enhancing awareness and understanding of sexual diversity. One of the standout events was titled
“Let’s Color Our Online Meetings with Rainbows,” where special rainbow-themed virtual backgrounds were distributed for use during online meetings. These efforts have not only galvanized support within the company but also led to the prestigious Silver certification in the PRIDE Indicator.
Park 24 Group’s initiatives are aligned with the PRIDE Indicator, which was established by work with Pride in 2016 to foster LGBTQ+ inclusivity in workplaces across Japan. This evaluation framework includes five key dimensions: Policy, Representation, Inspiration, Development, and Engagement/Empowerment. Companies are assessed based on their performance in these areas, and certifications are granted based on the achieved scores.
Work with Pride is a nonprofit organization that supports businesses in advancing LGBTQ+ diversity management within their organizations. Through annual conferences and various initiatives, they aim to guide human resources professionals and advocates in creating inclusive environments for sexual minorities. Their commitment to fostering diversity has gained traction, with many organizations striving to meet PRIDE Indicator standards.
As Park 24 Group moves forward, they remain dedicated to enhancing an inclusive environment that allows diverse talents to flourish, maintaining their stance as champions of sexual diversity within the workplace. This ongoing commitment reflects the group's understanding that diversity is not just a goal, but an essential component of their business success.
