Seniors Helping Seniors® Expands In-Home Care Services in Illinois
Seniors Helping Seniors® In-Home Services, a franchisor with an impressive network of over 200 franchise partners across 400 territories nationwide, has made a significant leap by launching a new location in Oak Park and Bloomingdale, Illinois. This initiative aims to provide meaningful companionship and peace of mind to local families by leveraging the Coker couple's unique shared commitment to service and genuine caregiving.
Muyiwa and Jennifer Coker, the local franchise owners, come from backgrounds where the value of service was ingrained from an early age. Muyiwa hails from Lagos, Nigeria, raised in a large multigenerational family that instilled strong Christian values in him. His experiences have equipped him with a deep-seated desire to help others, shown through various leadership roles in both his academic and professional life.
Jennifer's upbringing mirrors her husband's, rooted in a family dedicated to community service. Her grandparents were teachers, and her mother worked as a social worker. Through years of volunteering with seniors, including conducting pet therapy visits to nursing homes, she developed a profound appreciation for the comfort and companionship that can significantly uplift older adults’ quality of life.
Their commitment to launch Seniors Helping Seniors® has personal significance for the Cokers. Jennifer's struggle to secure quality caregiving for her grandmother, diagnosed with dementia, played a pivotal role. Despite the family’s hopes to keep her at home, the reality of finding trustworthy caregivers proved challenging. This challenging experience culminated in the heartbreaking decision to move her into a memory care facility, highlighting the dire need for compassionate and reliable caregiving.
In Muyiwa's words, “Caregiving is a calling, not just a career.” This ethos drives their mission to provide exceptional care, support, and companionship to seniors. They aspire to enable elderly individuals to maintain comfort and independence within their homes while granting families peace of mind.
The demand for mature-care services is on the rise, with nearly 70% of retirees likely to need long-term care, as indicated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This demand underscores the relevance of the new location in Chicago, which represents the tenth of its kind in Illinois, focusing on the needs of several communities, including Oak Park, River Forest, Elmwood Park, and others.
What makes the Seniors Helping Seniors® franchise truly distinctive is its commitment to employing senior caregivers. This not only creates job opportunities for seniors themselves but ensures a natural, empathetic bond between caregivers and those they serve.
Seniors Helping Seniors® has cemented its reputation as a leader within the elder-care landscape by prioritizing exceptional care and partnering with dedicated franchise owners. As stated by Seniors Helping Seniors® President, Namrata Yocom-Jan, “We've become a leader in this industry by prioritizing the best possible care for our seniors, and that means partnering with only the most passionate and hard-working franchise owners.”
The Cokers exemplify this spirit, equipped and eager to extend unparalleled in-home services to those in their communities that need it most.
