Booost Launches Innovative Data Integration Platform for Supply Chain Traceability

Booost Unveils 'booost Data EX-PF' for Enhanced Supply Chain Traceability

Booost Inc., a Tokyo-based company renowned for providing the top-rated sustainability ERP, has made significant strides in supporting companies' sustainability transformations (SX) through its latest innovation, the 'booost Data EX-PF'. This cutting-edge data integration platform aims to enhance traceability across supply chains and invites a new era of efficient data sharing among businesses.

With the backing of Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Booost refers to the ODS-RAM specifications advocated by the Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) and the industrial sector. The 'booost Data EX-PF' stands out as the only platform in Japan compliant with the international framework of product carbon footprint established by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the PACT technical specifications.

A Responding Tool for Global Demands

Contemporary corporate activities face growing scrutiny concerning their environmental impacts. This is especially pertinent with recent European regulations, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the Eco-design regulation (ESPR). Such regulations necessitate comprehensive data management spanning entire supply chains, compelling companies to share suppliers’ data along with their own. The need for collaboration and standardized data exchange is more pressing than ever.

In Japan, requirements highlighted in the ODS-RAM are gradually clarifying how businesses can engage in inter-company cooperation. The PACT initiative, spearheaded by the WBCSD, further defines the data exchange protocols specifically for product carbon footprints, underscoring the urgent need for compliance in global supply chains with respects to various regulations.

Significant Features of 'booost Data EX-PF'

The newly developed 'booost Data EX-PF' is designed to protect sensitive business information while facilitating seamless data exchange across supply chains. Here are its key features that set it apart:

1. Trade Secret Protection: Sensitive data is retained within the company’s own applications, while the integration platform only stores identifiers.
2. Data Sovereignty Assurance: Companies maintain control over their data—how it’s utilized, archived, or deleted.
3. Standardized Communication: The platform standardizes communication methods and data formats, simplifying inter-company collaboration while ensuring security and data integrity.
4. Flexible Management of IDs: The system can accommodate any hierarchical structure of identifiers for products and organizations.
5. Product ID Linking: Companies manage connections between products and parts via mutual agreements.
6. Extraction of Traceability Information: The system allows safe retrieval of necessary information through identifier connections.
7. Authentication & Anti-Tampering: Public keys and digital signatures verify data integrity in transmission.
8. Bidirectional Communication: Adopts widely-used REST APIs according to PACT specs to facilitate integration with existing applications.
9. Immutable Evidence Management: All operations are logged in a manner that prevents tampering.
10. Request & Response Functionality: Enables efficient data transfer between businesses based on mutual requests.

This platform is currently available as a beta version and aims to address third-party verification needs in calculating and managing supply chain emissions, thus providing necessary functionalities through proofs of concept (PoCs).

Future Prospects

Looking ahead, Booost plans to unify features from 'booost Sustainability' and 'booost PCF' with the 'booost Data EX-PF' to serve businesses requiring robust traceability in their supply chain emissions management. Furthermore, opportunities to adapt the platform for compliance with carbon border adjustments and environmental value trading related to green energy and recycling will be explored. Booost is heavily invested in enhancing its sustainability ERP system to empower Japanese firms in leveraging sustainability data for informed decision-making, thereby enhancing overall corporate value.

Booost continues to be a frontrunner in the sustainability information management field, aiming to encourage Japanese companies to optimize and accelerate their sustainability initiatives continuously.
