Baptist Health International Achieves Third Accreditation
Baptist Health International Cayman Islands, part of the esteemed Baptist Health South Florida system, has proudly announced that it has received its third accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI). This accreditation reaffirms the organization's commitment to meeting high international standards in quality, safety, and patient care within the Caribbean region.
The accreditation acknowledges the superior services provided by the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computed Tomography (CT) Imaging Center. This facility is dedicated to offering advanced diagnostic imaging services to patients in the Cayman Islands and throughout the Caribbean, playing a crucial role in improving access to quality healthcare close to home.
After stringent evaluations that included adherence to a wide range of healthcare standards, the JCI granted the prestigious Gold Seal of Approval® to the center. The assessment covered various aspects of patient safety, staff qualifications, quality improvement processes, patient education, and emergency preparedness. Baptist Health International Cayman Islands first earned its JCI accreditation in 2020, and receiving this third consecutive accreditation demonstrates its unwavering dedication to clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
Dr. Rogelio E. Ribas, Corporate Vice President of Baptist Health International, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, "Maintaining Joint Commission International accreditation for the third consecutive cycle reflects our unwavering commitment to provide patients in the Cayman Islands and the entire Caribbean with access to first-rate diagnostic imaging services near their homes. We are proud to continue promoting excellence in healthcare in the region through innovation and patient-centered care."
The Imaging Center is equipped with cutting-edge PET and CT technology, offering state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services aimed at facilitating early detection, diagnosis, and monitoring of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and various other medical conditions. All imaging results are interpreted by certified radiologists from Baptist Health based in the United States, which allows patients to access specialized information and resources from Baptist Health's internationally recognized clinical programs.
Since its establishment in 2019, the center has significantly reduced the necessity for Caribbean patients to travel abroad for specialized imaging services, as it enhances access to advanced diagnostic care closer to their homes. The Joint Commission International accreditation is recognized globally as a benchmark of quality in healthcare and patient safety. This designation reflects the organization's commitment to maintaining the highest standards of healthcare and continuous quality improvement.
