Introduction
On September 24, 2026, SRI Education in collaboration with Reading Reimagined released a pivotal study titled Unlocking the Code: The Impacts of a Structured Linguistic Phonics Program in Grades 4–8. This research explores the effectiveness of structured linguistic phonics instruction for students in upper elementary and middle school, marking one of the first rigorous examinations of phonics instruction beyond the primary grades.
