World Leaders Gather in Bridgetown for Essential Energy and Climate Conversations



In just five years, the world aims to meet the significant Sustainable Development Goals, especially the global energy target aligned with the Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7). To accelerate this mission, Bridgetown, Barbados will host the Global Sustainable Energy for All Forum from March 12 to 13, 2025. This pivotal gathering seeks to catalyze action and enhance ambition towards eradicating energy poverty and fostering a fair, inclusive energy transition.

Over 1,000 high-level representatives from governments, businesses, development institutions, civil society, and youth organizations will gather to acknowledge successes, forge new partnerships, and devise actionable pathways for equitable energy transitions that can transform lives. The sixth SEforALL Global Forum will be themed "Sustainable Energy for Equity, Security, and Prosperity," marking the first occasion this important meeting is held in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

The Government of Barbados, co-hosting the SEforALL Global Forum 2025, reaffirms its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and a clean energy future. Minister Lisa Cummins articulated this dedication, stating, "Barbados is committed to a sustainable energy transition both within our borders and beyond. Under Prime Minister Mottley's leadership, Barbados has emerged as a pioneer in pursuing a just and equitable energy transition—an ideal backdrop for the SEforALL Global Forum 2025, envisioned to inspire bold ideas, commitments, and collaborations aimed at ending energy poverty and mitigating climate change.

Forum Highlights and Initiatives



The forum anticipates participation from ministers representing over 30 nations and will feature two ministerial roundtables aimed at fostering cooperation, increasing ambition, and attracting investments for the energy transition in developing economies and emerging markets.

Key announcements and launches are also scheduled, including innovative financing through the DRE fund and showcasing countries' energy transition ambitions by presenting investment and transition plans. Additionally, the first global winners of The Energy Heroes Award will be announced, underscoring the tangible impacts of innovative ideas on real-world challenges.

Lastly, the forum positions itself as a critical platform ahead of COP30, with leadership announcing a roadmap aimed at enhancing climate finance ahead of the forthcoming global climate discussions later this year.
