Kilwins to Expand Significantly in Texas with Ten New Locations Opening Soon

Kilwins is Sweetening Texas with New Locations

Kilwins, the cherished American confectionery brand famous for its handmade chocolates and super-premium ice cream, is making a bold move into the Texas market by announcing the upcoming opening of ten new locations across the state. This expansion effort, which is set to begin in the upcoming summer, aims to tap into one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions, consequently broadening the opportunities for local communities to indulge in Kilwins' nostalgic treats.

A Perfect Match for the Lone Star State

According to Brian Britton, President and CEO of Kilwins, Texas presents a natural opportunity for growth. The state's year-round warm climate encourages ice cream sales, while a burgeoning population offers the perfect atmosphere for fostering family-centric communities. Many of these neighborhoods are populated by Midwestern transplants who already have an affinity for Kilwins' delightful offerings.

Among the ten locations on the horizon, four have been confirmed and are already under development in strategic areas: Waco, Midland, Cypress Waters (part of the Dallas-Fort Worth area), and East Village (in Austin). Waco's and Midland's stores are expected to open their doors in mid-2025, while those in Cypress Waters and East Village are anticipated to welcome customers by early 2026.

Engaged Community Ownership

The Kilwins franchisees demonstrate a strong commitment to community connection and a genuine approach to service. In Waco, the owners, Jennifer and Elizabeth Bartlett—a mother-daughter duo—are taking their already successful Kilwins store in Grapevine to the heart of Waco, located within a new hotel and convention center near the renowned Magnolia Market.

Jennifer Bartlett expressed enthusiasm about the quaint charm and the fresh opportunities Waco offers, sharing, "Kilwins is about creating joy. We're excited to bring that joy to a new community. While we sell ice cream, we believe we're truly in the people business."

Similarly, in Midland, a local family trio consisting of Scott Dufford, Neil Dufford, and Betsy Wells is opening a Kilwins location in the newly developed Summit Center. This center is specifically designed for community events and gatherings, enhancing the sense of locality.

Betsy Wells noted, "We’re delighted to be deeply rooted in Midland. Introducing Kilwins here means giving back to the community and offering something unique – a magical blend of hand-crafted treats and the quality that our brand stands for. We aim to create a destination that sparks joy and sensory delight for our neighbors."

Vibrant Urban Expansion

Kilwins's expansion continues at The Sound in Cypress Waters, a lively lakefront area that is part of a vibrant neighborhood filled with entertainment and community events. The East Village location in Austin looks to cater to a diverse mix of creatives, food aficionados, and families alike.

Britton also pointed out that the company has identified over 100 potential sites throughout Texas where Kilwins could easily flourish. Additional locations are in various stages of development in key regions like Cedar Park, Leander, Fort Worth Stockyards, Burleson, Frisco, and Fulshear-Katy. Each of these neighborhoods has a strong sense of community that longs for quality experiences.

Celebrating Tradition with a Modern Touch

Since its establishment in 1947, Kilwins has enchanted customers with its crafted confections and commitment to genuine customer service, evoking a sense of nostalgia with every purchase. With over 175 locations spread across 28 states, Kilwins is not only expanding but continuing to honor its rich legacy of traditional craftsmanship and community involvement.
