Fisher Phillips Expands Footprint with New Miami Office Opening
Fisher Phillips, an international labor and employment law firm renowned for its extensive network of nearly 900 attorneys worldwide, has officially launched its new office in Miami, effective October 1, 2026. This strategic move comes as the firm seeks to strengthen its presence in South Florida, particularly within the vibrant Miami business landscape. The new office will operate under the name "Fisher Phillips Zumpano - the Miami Office of Fisher Phillips LLP,” paying homage to its roots through the integration of the experienced team from local boutique law firm Zumpano Castro.
Leadership and Team Structure
At the helm of the new Miami office will be Carlos A. Zumpano, who has been appointed as the Regional Managing Partner. He will lead a team that includes his brother Daniel Zumpano, Joe Ruiz, and Giselle Ortiz Del Amo, all of whom will be joining Fisher Phillips as partners. Additionally, notable figures Tony Castro and Stephen Machin will contribute their expertise as of counsel, while Emilio Dominguez will join as an associate.
For the first two years of operation, the Miami office will be styled as Fisher Phillips Zumpano, reflecting the Zumpano family's established reputation and longstanding presence in the Miami market. During this period, both Carlos and Daniel Zumpano will invest significant effort into developing the Fisher Phillips Miami office while continuing their work with Zumpano Castro. This collaboration underscores a dual commitment to both their new responsibilities and their existing client base.
As noted by John Polson, the Chairman and Managing Partner of Fisher Phillips, establishing a foothold in Miami was a priority for the firm. Having served the South Florida area through five other offices, the decision to create a dedicated Miami presence was made with a focus on building local credibility and cultural fluency needed to succeed in this unique market.
Focus Areas and Client Services
The newly assembled team comes with a wealth of experience in employment litigation, trial advocacy, compliance, and daily labor and employment counseling. The Miami office will also be particularly beneficial to professional employer organizations (PEOs), boasting a robust practice that will complement Fisher Phillips’ existing capabilities within this niche.
Carlos Zumpano emphasized the significance of joining forces with Fisher Phillips, noting, "This move brings together two of the country's most formidable PEO practices under the Fisher Phillips umbrella. It will enhance our representation, advocacy, and protection for clients in the industry. We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Fisher Phillips in the PEO sector for over a decade, witnessing firsthand their unwavering commitment to their clients and the industry.”
Looking Ahead
As Fisher Phillips continues to expand its services and reach, the Miami office is expected to play a crucial role in the firm’s objectives moving forward. By merging established local expertise with the extensive resources and reach of a global law firm, this opening positions Fisher Phillips as a vital player in the labor and employment landscape in Miami and beyond. As employers navigate complex workplace matters, the firm is eager to offer tailored solutions that reflect their commitment to client service and innovative approaches.
In summary, the launch of the Miami office marks a new chapter for Fisher Phillips, reaffirming its dedication to providing high-quality legal services tailored to the needs of businesses in South Florida. With a strong local team in place and a clear vision for growth, the firm is well-equipped to support its clients in an evolving legal landscape.
