DESIGNART TOKYO 2026: A Cultural Extravaganza
The highly anticipated DESIGNART TOKYO 2026 will celebrate its landmark 10th anniversary from October 30 to November 8, 2026. This year’s event will take place in the historic and innovative districts of Ginza and Yurakucho, where tradition meets modernity in the heart of Tokyo.
As Japan's largest design and art festival, DESIGNART TOKYO brings together a diverse range of presentations spanning design, art, interior, and fashion, showcasing sensory experiences that captivate both locals and visitors from around the world. The festival will feature an impressive lineup of groundbreaking exhibitions and installations by talented artists and designers, certain to stimulate the senses and inspire creativity.
The Theme: Hibiki
The theme for this year, “Hibiki,” reflects the harmonious resonance and the blending of diverse influences that characterizes the festival. Renowned artist Kenta Cobayashi will unveil this year’s key visual, which embodies the essence of “Hibiki.” Cobayashi, known for his distinctive approach to visual narratives, has created a striking representation that showcases bold brushstroke techniques to evoke the unknown vibrations that resonate with our senses.
Born in Kanagawa, Japan, in 1992, Kenta Cobayashi is not only a photographer but also a multifaceted artist who pushes the boundaries of photographic expression. His acclaimed “#smudge” series, which transforms elements of his photographs into brushstroke-like abstractions, illustrates his innovative vision. Through various mediums such as sculpture, performance, CG, VR, NFTs, and fashion, Cobayashi aims to redefine the realm of photography.
