NTT Anode Energy and Power X's New Battery Storage Facility in Hakodate
In a significant advancement for renewable energy management, Power X, headquartered in Tamano City, Okayama, has successfully supplied three units of its Mega Power 2700A battery storage systems to NTT Anode Energy's newly established facility in Hakodate, Hokkaido. The systems, boasting a combined capacity of 8,226 kWh, are set to play a crucial role in stabilizing the electricity supply in the region.
The Hakodate Battery Storage Facility will connect to the local power grid, allowing it to charge during times of excess electricity generation and discharge when there is a shortfall. This process will help maintain a balance between energy supply and demand, marking a critical step towards increasing the adoption of renewable energy sources in the area.
This latest installation is the second of its kind for NTT Anode Energy, following the completion of the Fukuoka Wakamatsu Battery Storage Facility in April 2025. Notably, this is the first time Power X has delivered its systems to a location in Hokkaido, further expanding its footprint within the country.
