SEGA's New Initiative for Yakuza Series Streamers
In celebration of the Yakuza series' 20th anniversary, SEGA has launched a new initiative aimed at supporting content creators who share gameplay videos from the beloved franchise. Known as the "Yakuza Series Game Streamer Support Project," this unique endeavor invites gamers to help elevate the Yakuza brand through their streaming efforts.
Project Overview
The project encourages gamers to bring the essence of the Yakuza universe to life through their unique perspectives. Participating streamers will be expected to showcase their gameplay through their YouTube channels. Streamers not only contribute to the community but also stand a chance to earn exclusive rewards.
Game Appearance Opportunity
One of the most enticing aspects of the project is the chance for participants to earn a game appearance in an upcoming production from the Yakuza Studio. This offer is available to streamers who meet specific criteria during the project term, fostering a competitive and engaging environment.
Key Dates
The first recruitment period for the project begins on
December 19, 2025, and ends on
January 4, 2026. This window provides a critical opportunity for aspiring streamers to get involved and work towards making a mark in the Yakuza universe.
How to Participate
For streamers eager to join this project, certain eligibility criteria must be adhered to:
- - Must have a YouTube channel with at least 5,000 subscribers.
- - Must stream or post at least two Yakuza-related videos during the eligibility month.
- - Must achieve one of the following:
1. Total views exceeding 3,000 for their videos or streams within the eligibility month.
2. An average of over 5,000 views for Yakuza-specific YouTube Shorts during the same timeframe.
Participants must submit their applications through the dedicated project website, ensuring all required information is filled out accurately.
Grading System
As part of the project mechanics, streamers will be assigned a grade rank based on their performance, categorized into three levels:
Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Throughout the project's duration, each participant's activity will be monitored to evaluate their potential for promotion or demotion between ranks.
Achieving and maintaining the coveted Gold status could lead to an opportunity for game appearances in future Yakuza Studio titles, a dream come true for many gamers!
Special Ambassadors
Adding excitement to the project, two well-known figures in the gaming community,
kson and
Dogma Kazami, are stepping in as special ambassadors. They expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to promoting the Yakuza series effectively:
kson remarked, "I am truly honored to be appointed as a special ambassador! Having been a fan and player myself, I am excited to spread the love for Yakuza further through this project."
Dogma Kazami stated, "It is a significant honor to take on the role of an ambassador. My journey with Yakuza began as an approved streamer, and I believe this project is a fantastic opportunity for fans to showcase their passion. Let's amplify the Yakuza experience together—come one, come all!"
