China-Arab Forum Enhances Audiovisual Collaboration Through Innovation and Cultural Exchange
On November 5, 2025, the 7th China-Arab States Broadcasting and Television Cooperation Forum took place in Chongqing, showcasing a significant convergence of culture, technology, and media between China and the Arab nations. This year's forum attracted around 300 delegates, comprising representatives from various broadcasting regulatory bodies, audiovisual organizations, diplomatic missions in China, and academic institutions from 16 different Arab countries.
The forum's central theme, "Mutual Learning Between Chinese and Arab Civilizations, Shared Success in Audiovisual Innovation," highlighted the potential for deeper relationships and collaborations between these two diverse cultures. Attendees engaged in extensive discussions surrounding content creation and technological advancements, with a focus on vital topics such as "China-Arab Audio-Visual Content Cooperation in the Digital Media Era" and "Technology Empowering High-Quality Development of the Audio-Visual Industry."
Across various sessions, participants exchanged ideas about innovative content collaboration strategies, effective technology applications, and the cultivation of new business models. The outcomes from these discussions have the potential to catalyze future partnerships and drive joint initiatives between media entities in both regions.
A pivotal moment of this year's forum was the unanimous adoption of the "Joint Declaration of the 7th China-Arab States Broadcasting and Television Cooperation Forum," which outlines intentions to enhance policy coordination, facilitate content sharing, promote technological exchanges, and increase personnel interactions. The goal is to architect a fresh paradigm for cross-cultural dialogue in contemporary society, through cooperation in the broadcasting and audiovisual sectors.
The forum also celebrated success with the announcement of over 50 cooperative outcomes within the China-Arab audiovisual field. Among these achievements was the unveiling of the winners of the 4th China-Arab States Short Video Competition. Other engaging events included a thematic concert and a media collection tour aimed at enriching the experience of participants and attendees alike. The heart of the forum was the China-Arab Audio-Visual Content and Technology Exchange Exhibition, which showcased a solid commitment from both sides to enhance cooperation.
In anticipation of the upcoming 2026 China-Arab States Summit, a new initiative called the "Audio-Visual Silk Road China-Arab Stories" campaign will be launched. This effort seeks to promote the mutual broadcast of quality audiovisual programs starting from September 2025 through June 2026. The campaign will display standout Arab programs like "Om El Donya," Chinese productions such as "Flourished Peony," and collaborative works like "When the Yangtze Meets the Nile." These selections will be featured across mainstream media channels, elevating cultural enrichment and sharing stories of cooperation and friendship between China and Arab nations.
The 7th China-Arab States Broadcasting and Television Cooperation Forum was a collaboration between prominent organizations, including the National Radio and Television Administration of China, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the Secretariat of the League of Arab States, and the Arab States Broadcasting Union. This forum not only served as a platform for dialogue and collaboration but also set a foundation for future endeavors in mutual understanding and support between these culturally rich civilizations.
