The 8th Edition of National Prosecco Week Proves A Success Celebrating Italy's Sparkling Wine
National Prosecco Week 2025: A Celebration of Italy's Favorite Sparkling Wine
The Prosecco DOC Consortium has jubilantly completed its 8th edition of National Prosecco Week (NPW), celebrated from June 2–8, 2025, across vital markets in the United States. This year's initiative unveiled a revamped visual identity along with a new tagline, "Sharing the Italian Way of Life!". The motto echoed the social, inclusive, and festive spirit surrounding Prosecco DOC, elevating its presence among both trade professionals and consumers.
A Dynamic Series of Events
With a focus on promoting the versatility and quality of Prosecco DOC, National Prosecco Week brought together trade experts, media personnel, and consumers through an engaging series of events. The campaign kicked off with an educational four-city roadshow that traversed prominent U.S. locations, including San Francisco, Chicago, Raleigh, and Washington, D.C. This engaging series included expert-led masterclasses, featuring influential voices in the industry such as Master Sommeliers Jim Bube and Chris Gaither alongside Masters of Wine Sheri Morano and Kryss Speegle. These seminars were designed to immerse attendees in the world of Prosecco, revealing insights about the region, winemaking techniques, and tasting nuances.
Expanding Retail and Restaurant Engagements
Following last year's triumph, NPW 2025 made significant strides in retail and restaurant participation, integrating over 2,000 stores nationwide. For the first time, Total Wine & More contributed to the campaign, joining in tandem with established partners like Costco and Albertsons. The initiative successfully mobilized 1,350 independent retailers and over 250 restaurants, solidifying Prosecco DOC's prominence across the nation's dining experiences.
Entertainment and Skill Showcases
In addition to retail focus, the Prosecco DOC National Cocktail Competition returned for its second successful year. In partnership with the United States Bartenders' Guild (USBG), bartenders from coast to coast submitted their original cocktail recipes highlighting Prosecco DOC. Five finalists competed during a live finale in Las Vegas, where judges evaluated the cocktails on taste and creativity. Lauren Pellecchia emerged as the Overall Winner, while Kyrylo Filipushko took home the People's Choice award based on audience votes.
Moreover, Dr. Hoby Wedler, a prominent sensory expert, conducted a unique blindfolded seminar on June 2 at the renowned New York City restaurant, Il Gattopardo. Attendees engaged their other senses to accentuate the nuances of Prosecco DOC wines, enhancing their overall sensory experience as they learned to appreciate the wine’s complexities.
Cultural Events Reflecting Prosecco's Richness
Emphasizing Prosecco's growing cultural significance, the Consortium collaborated with Jermaine Stone of Cru Luv Selections for a vibrant cocktail-making event on June 7 at Evento in New York. The night was infused with music, craft cocktails, and storytelling, reinforcing Prosecco's essence as not just a drink but an experience that connects wine, art, and culture.
Digital Outreach and Engagement
In a bid to extend its digital reach, NPW incorporated a targeted influencer marketing strategy, collaborating with a diverse range of content creators who shared captivating stories and experiences related to Prosecco on social media platforms. These narratives showcased the countless ways Prosecco DOC can be enjoyed—from solitary sips to delightful pairings with food and trending cocktails.
Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Quality and Education
"National Prosecco Week 2025 has reaffirmed the ongoing allure of Prosecco DOC in the United States," stated Giancarlo Guidolin, President of Consorzio Prosecco DOC. He expressed pride in the expanded activities that not only reflect the rising consumer demand but also capture the intrinsic connection individuals feel with the Italian lifestyle. With a focus on education, sustainability, and cultural presence, the Prosecco DOC Consortium is excited about the future, aiming to reinforce its global standing.
As we look back on the successful activities of National Prosecco Week, it’s evident that the celebration of this sparkling wine continues to flourish, paving the way for future endeavors in the realm of Italian wines and their cultural tapestry.
