KDDI Expands Free Data Opportunity with povo Data Oasis Across Major Transport Lines

Introduction


KDDI Corporation has made significant enhancements to its prepaid mobile service, povo2.0, with the introduction of the "povo Data Oasis." Effective from August 25, 2026, users of this service will enjoy access to free data across various train stations in the Tokyo area, specifically through partnerships with several rail operators including Seibu Railway and Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation.

Expansion Details


As part of its expansion plan, KDDI’s povo Data Oasis will be available at all stations for nine additional operators, including a total of 20 rail operators with which it has partnered.

- Tama City Monorail
- Chiba Urban Monorail
- Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation

- Yokohama City Transportation Bureau

With the addition of these operators, the service will cover a cumulative total of 954 stations. Furthermore, KDDI plans to further expand the service to approximately 1,300 stations by October 2026, enhancing the commuting experience for many users.
