Hamlet Homes Fundraising Efforts to Combat Homelessness
In an inspiring initiative, Hamlet Homes recently raised
$45,000 for HomeAid Utah, a move that is projected to assist around
45 homeless individuals in obtaining permanent housing. This charitable effort coincided with the intense excitement surrounding the popular TV show,
Rock The Block, where Hamlet Homes starred as the official builder during its sixth season.
The fundraiser was part of a larger event termed the
'Rock The Block Party', which took place in Grantsville, Utah, over the Memorial Day weekend 2025. This was an exciting opportunity for the public to tour the
four homes featured in the show while enjoying festive activities including food, music, and an auction. As it turned out, the event attracted an unexpected number of participants, with thousands of Utahn's driving over an hour to attend.
Tami Ostmark, the Owner and VP of Marketing at Hamlet Homes, expressed her pride in the event’s success, stating, “At Hamlet Homes, we've always believed that what we build should do more than fill a need; it should change lives.” This perspective is deeply rooted in the company's efforts to collaborate with HomeAid through their project known as
The Other Side Village, which aims to provide transitional housing for those in need.
During the festivities, attendees partook in a
silent auction featuring items from the show, including memorabilia that contributed to the overall funds raised for HomeAid. The money raised went directly to support
The Other Side Village, which is designed to transition homeless individuals into permanent housing solutions through a unique community-focused approach. HomeAid plans to build
456 homes as part of this project over the next 3–5 years, which Ostmark emphasized as crucial for creating lasting change rather than mere temporary fixes.
The successful fundraising also showcased the camaraderie among the local community, with reporters and media covering the event from all major local television stations and radio outlets. Ostmark mentioned, “It was like Field of Dreams. We really didn’t anticipate that so many people would come.” With parking quickly becoming scarce, many attendees parked miles away, showcasing the community's investment in the cause.
In addition to raising money, this initiative highlights the vital role of employment and community integration in the lives of people experiencing homelessness. “Once in the Village, they get connected to employment. Now they're saving money, finding purpose, and feeling useful again.” said Preston Cochrane, CEO of The Other Side Village, reflecting on the transformative experience for new residents.
Residents have echoed similar sentiments, highlighting how
The Other Side Village's supportive environment has rekindled hope and stability in their lives. Stories from residents speak volumes about the life-changing support they receive, emphasizing the program's strong community foundation designed to prevent chronic homelessness.
As Hamlet Homes continues to focus on long-term solutions that genuinely impact lives, the excitement surrounding the
Rock The Block Party serves as a testament to community spirit and collaboration. Despite being known for creating beautiful homes, Hamlet Homes has proven that they are also dedicated to reshaping lives through meaningful, lasting contributions.
With such successful endeavors, the future looks bright for both Hamlet Homes and the individuals the
The Other Side Village aims to support. Through these partnerships and initiatives, progress is being made in the fight against homelessness in Utah.
