In April 2025, Web Aqua LLC, based in Osaka, partnered with the women creators' community, Wix Ladies' Meetup, to revamp the official website of Sanmarie Tokyo, a marriage consultation agency located in Tokyo. The project, completed entirely through the no-code platform Wix, featured a comprehensive overhaul that extended to 337 pages. After launching on April 28, the site saw an almost immediate spike in visibility, moving from the 40s to the top 10 rankings on Google just two days later, and achieving the number one position on Google Maps.
Selection of Wix as a Tool
The decision to utilize Wix for the renovation stemmed from its capability to streamline internal operations and enhance security, as recommended by ChatGPT. The existing site had relied on a Japanese CMS for over five years, with 430 pages of carefully crafted content by representative Naoko Hashi, who nurtured her site like a child through effective content marketing. Yet, the limitations of their current system became apparent: insufficient data storage and heavy editing processes hampered usability.
Upon exploring potential platforms with ChatGPT’s guidance, Wix emerged due to its user-friendly interface, potential for scalability, and cloud management benefits. While some experts expressed skepticism about managing 430 pages on Wix, another confirmed it was feasible.
Collaborative Support from Wix Ladies' Meetup
Recognizing that the scope of the project exceeded their resources, the team sought collaboration from six members of the Wix Ladies' Meetup, which had been formed for networking and knowledge-sharing purposes. This collaborative team environment provided a sense of familiarity and trust, crucial for tackling the ambitious scope of the renovation.
Among them, 'Miiko,' an aspiring web director, was called upon to lead the direction of the project. Eager to learn and practice her skills, she embraced this significant opportunity, stepping outside her comfort zone yet excited about practical experience.
Implementation Challenges on Wix
To address the challenge of implementing 430 pages within Wix, the team excluded around 100 pages with minimal traffic, dividing the remaining pages into static and dynamic categories. Due to Wix’s limit of 100 static pages, dynamic pages were used for large content clusters, while key service and introductory pages were developed as static entries.
A notable component was the 'marriage interview' format, which leveraged dynamic page capabilities for consistency across numerous entries. Collaboration with Wix partners and constant communication ensured the renovation flowed smoothly despite the volume.
Live Editing and Feedback
Utilizing the Wix Editor's collaborative features, the design process was conducted live via screen sharing, allowing real-time feedback from clients. This approach drastically reduced miscommunications desiring an accurate representation of client expectations. The designers faced the challenge of balancing creative visions against client perspectives and preferences.
During weekly Zoom meetings, the distributed team managed to develop the site effectively, even while conversing between locations as far apart as Tokyo, Kanagawa, Aichi, and Osaka.
Important SEO Considerations
While moving about 300 articles into the new site, the team emphasized keyword migration and internal linking accuracy. Because the original CMS lacked essential export functions, they painstakingly transferred content, ensuring headers and alt text were correctly structured to optimize SEO performances.
Notably, merely two days post-launch, SEO results demonstrated significant improvements, ranking previously unlisted keywords on search engines.
Ongoing Client Engagement
Hashi's commitment to maintaining her blog while the renovation progressed proved pivotal. She actively posted new content during the transition and even collaborated directly in blog management using Wix’s platform, which enabled seamless joint efforts in updating the content effectively.
Navigation and Redirect Strategy
Redirect setups were meticulously strategized to prevent the issues experienced during past cases where renaming URLs rendered sites non-functional. Close attention to maintaining established URLs while ensuring proper redirects was paramount, allowing users to seamlessly traverse the redesigned site.
By May 26, the revamped site had achieved a first-page rank on Google, further solidifying the benefits of a well-planned digital strategy while showcasing Wix’s efficacy for enterprise-level applications.
Conclusion
This project illustrates Wix's adaptability beyond mere website development into a robust business tool enabled by AI and CRM functionalities, fostering business growth. As Web Aqua continues to enhance the digital landscape through innovative practices, they invite collaboration for both small and large-scale projects.
