Experience the Culinary Magic of Hokkaido at Tokyo Dome Hotel's Fair 2026

Hokkaido Fair 2026: A Culinary Journey at Tokyo Dome Hotel

Tokyo Dome Hotel, located in Tokyo's Bunkyo Ward, is all set to kick off its popular 'Hokkaido Fair' on October 1, 2026. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this beloved autumn event, which is held in collaboration with the Hokkaido government. The first phase of the fair will run until December 18, with a second phase from December 19 to February 28, 2027. This extensive buffet invites guests to indulge in the rich variety and culinary delights Hokkaido has to offer.

A 1,200 km Voyage of Discovery

Get ready for an unforgettable gastronomic experience! Leading up to the fair, a dedicated team consisting of chefs, service managers, and public relations representatives embarked on a remarkable 1,200 km journey across Hokkaido. Their exploration included encounters with local producers in key areas like Hakodate, Sapporo, Akanko, Nemuro, and Kushiro. They engaged with local restaurants and markets, sampling the everyday dishes enjoyed by the residents. Highlights of their adventures include hands-on experiences such as charcoal-grilled robatayaki in Kushiro and traditional bacon and sausage-making at Tonden Farm in Ebetsu.

The team was inspired by local dishes like potato salad topped with salted squid and sumptuous pork bowls cooked over charcoal. They have integrated these unique discoveries into their buffet offerings, ensuring guests can savor the authentic taste of Hokkaido.

Luxurious Buffet Offerings

Guests can expect to find exquisite selections at the buffet that elevate the dining experience:
  • - Dinner Specials: Choose one from 'Hokkaido Red King Crab', 'Sashimi of Hokkaido Scallops with Roe', or 'Wagyu Steak with Wasabi'.
  • - Lunch Highlights: Indulge in options like 'Hokkaido Red King Crab' or 'Sashimi of Hokkaido Scallops with Roe'.

Additionally, the signature 'Rilassa Original Seafood Parfait' will tantalize diners with over ten different ingredients, including tuna, salmon, prawns, squid, and more, allowing guests to create their personalized seafood masterpiece.

Local Favorites and New Creations

Local specialties take center stage with dishes like Kushiro-style robatayaki served buffet-style, enabling guests to enjoy the smoky flavors of grilled fish like salmon and hokke, along with fresh corn. Another highlight is the 'Rilassa Soup Curry', featuring a spicy, velvety broth with chicken and seasonal vegetables—a hidden gem among the hotel’s offerings.

For lunch, the 'Tonden Farm Sausage and Greens Stir-fry' combines succulent sausages with crisp greens, enhanced by Shaoxing wine for depth of flavor. Diners can also savor dishes like 'Shrimp and White Corn Stir-fry', showcasing the freshness of Hokkaido ingredients.

Moreover, creative menu items born from team research include the 'Corn Stick Skewers'—a delightful sweet treat—and 'Rich Miso Ramen with Grilled Corn', among others.
