Historical Summit on Reparative Justice in Geneva



On May 6, 2026, the Pan-African Progressive Front (PPF), in collaboration with the Pan-African League - UMOJA (LP-U) and the Popular African University in Switzerland (UPAF), marked a significant milestone by closing the Geneva Forum on Restorative Justice and Colonial Accountability. This summit has led to the establishment of the Global Justice Taskforce by the PPF-D and the unanimous adoption of the landmark Geneva Declaration on Restorative Justice.

Held at the Gandhi Hall of the Maison Internationale des Associations, this high-level meeting attracted a formidable assembly of political leaders, legal experts, historians, and civil society activists from Africa, Europe, and North America. The primary goal of the forum was to formulate a concrete and viable framework for global reparations, translating the United Nations’ acknowledgment of slavery and colonialism into actionable steps.

Key Highlights of the Forum



1. Formation of the PPF-D Global Justice Taskforce: This new coordinating body will comprise specialized working groups focused on legal strategy, public advocacy, media engagement, and educational outreach.
2. Restoration Defense Manual and Toolkit: A comprehensive resource was launched for global use by lawmakers, journalists, and youth movements across continents. This toolkit aims to empower grassroots organizations in their advocacy efforts for reparations.
3. 12-Month Defense Calendar: An organized roadmap for parliamentary engagement and international media campaigns is set to be published on May 15, 2026. This strategic initiative aims to synchronize efforts toward achieving reparative justice on a global scale.
