Hear the Voices of Children: The 'co no Koe' Exhibition

The 'co no koe' exhibition, now in its fourth iteration, presents a unique platform for children to express their voices through art. Organized by the Shibuya Children's Family Support Center and the 'co Shibuya' facility, the exhibition opens its doors from June 24 to September 29, 2026. This year’s theme, 'Awai', stands for the intriguing relationships and boundaries we experience in space and time, as well as between ourselves and others. It invites visitors to dive into the rich fabric of children's voices represented through their artworks.

Since its inception in August 2021, 'co Shibuya' has grown into a vibrant hub for families and children, welcoming over 2,000 parent-child pairs every month. Located in the heart of Shibuya, this center nurtures creativity and community connection among families with children of various ages.

Each year, 'co Shibuya' hosts an exhibition that showcases the remarkable works created by children in its atelier. For the 2025 fiscal year, the showcase will highlight pieces produced throughout the year, expanding its display into the broader community beyond the center. This vibrant display aims to amplify the individual expressions and emotions of children, allowing their voices to resonate throughout Shibuya.

The atelier at 'co Shibuya' serves as a creative playground where children engage with different materials and the natural world around them. Throughout 2025, children explored the transitions of the seasons, using available natural objects and adjusting their color palettes to align with the seasons. This not only enhances their awareness of nature’s changes but also promotes meaningful creation as they carefully interact with their tools.

Through their artworks, children encapsulate memories of the seasons and their unique perspectives, inviting audiences to connect with their experiences. The term 'Awai,' representing the melting boundaries between various elements, reflects in the vibrant colors, shapes, and strokes articulated in the artworks. It encourages visitors to appreciate how children connect and interact with the world around them through their creative expressions.

The exhibition is not just about witnessing art; it’s about listening to the voices of children and discovering new insights within ourselves. We aspire for this exhibition to act as a forum for dialogue, fostering connections between individuals and the community, grounded in the expressions of children.

• - Dress Code: Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, as paint will be used.

Event 2: 'co no Koe Exhibition' in Shibuya City
A display and related events will be held at 'Kodomo Beams' in Daikanyama, showcasing the artistic expressions of children from 0 years onward.

• - Dates: August 1 - August 16, 2026
• - Venue: Kodomo Beams (Daikanyama)
• - Time: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• - Special Experience: The mini-mini atelier experience on August 1 and 8, allowing kids to create original goods using stamps.
