National Night Out 2025: Building Safer Communities Together
On August 5, 2025, citizens and law enforcement agencies across the United States will come together for the annual event known as National Night Out (NNO). Organized by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW), this event aims to foster partnerships between the police and local communities while promoting unity and safety.
A Day of Engagement and Fun
National Night Out takes place each year on the first Tuesday of August, transforming neighborhoods into lively hubs of interaction. From meet-and-greets with police officers and firefighters to fun food and engaging activities, NNO encourages residents to come out and connect with one another – all while enhancing public safety.
As part of this year's celebration, NATW has joined forces with notable partners including ADT, Starbucks, Nintendo, ATT, the 7-Eleven Cares Foundation, Dollar Tree, Associa, L.E.A.D., and Nextbase. These partnerships aim to enrich the community experience during the event, bringing together resources and excitement.
What to Expect
Attendees at NNO can look forward to:
- - Meet-and-greets with police, fire, EMS, and local leadership.
- - Delicious food and refreshments available throughout the night.
- - Games and activities specifically designed for children, ensuring a fun-filled experience for families.
- - Safety demonstrations to educate the community about crime prevention and emergency preparedness.

Matt Peskin, the creator of National Night Out, reflects on the event's purpose by stating, "NNO takes us back to a time when neighbors knew each other, looked out for one another, and shared a secure environment. This night helps residents and first responders connect, creating a united front against crime in a positive atmosphere."
DeLu Jackson, Chief Marketing Officer at ADT, emphasizes the importance of building trust within neighborhoods, stating, "Safer neighborhoods begin with relationships. ADT is proud to stand alongside families and first responders in this mission of connection and safety."
Nationwide Participation
National Night Out is not just a localized event; it brings together millions of participants from thousands of communities across all 50 states. Cities and towns of all sizes will participate, each adding their unique flavor to the evening’s events. Residents are encouraged to not only attend but to take an active role in fostering safer environments for themselves and their neighbors.
Through celebration and camaraderie, National Night Out 2025 aims to enhance neighborhood ties and strengthen community safety. It's more than just a single night – it’s a movement to reclaim trust, familiarity, and cooperation among all citizens and their law enforcement partners.
Join in the festivities this August 5th to be part of a nationwide initiative that celebrates unity, safety, and community spirit. Together, we can make our neighborhoods better places to live.
