Revolutionizing Menopause Care: Black Girl Vitamins Partners with Jayla Health for Black Women's Wellness

Black Girl Vitamins and Jayla Health: A New Era in Menopause Care

In celebration of Menopause Awareness Month, Black Girl Vitamins (BGV), a leading vitamin and supplements brand targeting Black women, has teamed up with Jayla Health, a startup founded by Black women focusing on hormonal health. This collaboration marks a vital shift in menopause care, aiming to provide much-needed support to Black women navigating this significant life transition.

The initiative will offer free virtual consultations for menopause and perimenopause throughout October and November, specifically benefiting women in New York, California, and Florida. These sessions include culturally informed guidance tailored to meet the unique health needs of Black women, who often face significant disparities in healthcare access.

Jennifer Juma, Chief Strategy Officer of Black Girl Vitamins, expresses the urgency of this outreach. “Far too often, Black women experience menopause symptoms more intensely and for longer periods with limited resources,” she said. “Our goal is to improve health outcomes and provide equitable access to quality care.”

Each consultation allows women to complete a patient intake form and connect with a provider from Jayla Health. Participants will receive personalized treatment plans, actionable next steps, and, when necessary, prescriptions, addressing various menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and emotional changes. This collaboration builds on BGV’s flagship product, Meno-Chill, designed to alleviate menopause-related concerns including libido issues, emotional balance, and more.

Research indicates that Black women disproportionately experience menopause symptoms compared to their counterparts in other demographics. Issues such as frequent hot flashes, depression, and sleep disturbances are more prevalent, ultimately affecting overall health. Antonia Walters, Co-Founder of Jayla Health, notes, “Symptoms in Black women are often misconstrued as simply stress or aging due to systemic bias in healthcare. Our mission is to change this narrative by providing tailored solutions that focus on their specific needs.”

This partnership aims not only to address menopause symptoms but also to enhance the conversation surrounding Black women’s health in the context of hormonal changes. Through free education and consultations, BGV and Jayla Health seek to empower Black women, giving them the tools needed to embrace this pivotal stage of life.
