Celebrating GAP and SDGs Agricultural Day
On November 14, Japan will officially recognize "GAP and SDGs Agricultural Day" as a way to promote sustainable agricultural practices. Organized by the Japan GAP Association, this day aims to raise awareness about Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and their contribution to food safety, environmental protection, and human rights.
The month of November will be celebrated as "GAP and SDGs Agricultural Promotion Month," featuring various initiatives, including an Instagram campaign to engage the public and encourage participation in sustainable farming.
What is GAP and SDGs Agricultural Day?
The GAP and SDGs Agricultural Day is registered as an official holiday with the Japan Memorial Day Association, aiming to expand the reach of sustainable agriculture principles through GAP. This initiative highlights the importance of safe food production, labor safety, and environmental conservation while respecting human rights. By promoting GAP, the Japan GAP Association hopes to connect consumers, food businesses, and producers, encouraging them to understand the value and impact of sustainable farming practices.
