PrideStaff's Fundraising Efforts Bring Hope to Hurricane Helene Victims in Asheville

PrideStaff's Fundraising Campaign Aids Asheville Employees

In the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Helene, which struck Asheville, North Carolina, in September 2024, a significant initiative has emerged from PrideStaff, a national staffing organization. The hurricane was classified as a Category 4 storm, leaving a trail of destruction that heavily impacted the local community, with numerous homes wrecked and essential resources inaccessible for weeks. This challenging situation prompted PrideStaff to take swift action, launching a GoFundMe campaign aimed at assisting employees in the area.

The storm's impact was widespread. Many local employees of PrideStaff found themselves facing tragic losses, with some completely losing their homes due to the flooding and havoc wrought by fallen trees. Recognizing the severe hardships faced by their team, PrideStaff was determined to provide as much support as possible during this perilous time.

They initiated the GoFundMe campaign, seeking donations to facilitate the recovery process for those affected. The response was heartening, as many people from various backgrounds contributed to the cause, showcasing a remarkable act of solidarity and compassion within the community. The funds raised are being utilized to help employees regain their footing in their lives and start the process of rebuilding what was lost.

Della Taylor, the Owner and Strategic Partner of the PrideStaff Asheville office, shared an inspiring update regarding the significant impact of the donations. For instance, two employees, Lewis Leon Diaz and Ninoska Marquez de Martinez, were each awarded $1,500 in Visa Gift Cards to assist in replacing lost items after suffering extensive damage. Additionally, another employee without a home in Fairview received $1,000 in the form of gift cards, enabling her to begin the rebuilding process. The heartfelt messages of gratitude received highlight not only the direct financial aid but also the emotional support that these actions brought during a trying time.

Furthermore, recognizing the loss of income experienced by many employees during the recovery period, PrideStaff distributed $300 Visa Gift Cards to twenty-four employees who faced weeks of missed work, making their holidays a bit brighter amidst the suffering. Many expressed their appreciation, noting that these gestures made a significant difference during the holiday season, providing comfort when it was needed most.

Taylor expressed her overwhelming gratitude for the success of the GoFundMe campaign organized by the PrideStaff Home Office, stating, "The generosity of all contributors is pivotal in helping our employees get back on their feet and rebuild their lives, providing hope for the future." She emphasized that collective challenges can often lead to the best in people, illustrating perfectly how teamwork and community spirit are pivotal in overcoming adversity.

PrideStaff's Co-CEO, Tammi Heaton, echoed this sentiment, acknowledging the community’s collaborative effort. "Working together to help those in need during this catastrophic event showcases the core values embedded in our corporate culture. We are honored to have played a part in making the holiday period less burdensome as families begin to rebuild."

Founded in the 1970s, PrideStaff’s mission is to deliver dedicated staffing solutions while maintaining the flexibility and personal touch of a small business. Their philanthropic efforts during the aftermath of Hurricane Helene highlight the organization’s commitment not only to its business objectives but also to the welfare of its employees and the communities they serve.

As PrideStaff continues to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene and remains a steadfast supporter of the Asheville community, their actions offer a beacon of hope during a time that can often seem bleak.
