Bringing Joy to Children: The Summer Smiles Event 2025

This year, the Egao Plus Children Support Association is thrilled to announce the Summer Smiles Event 2025, an initiative designed to bring happiness and unforgettable memories to children living in child care facilities. We will be hosting a private event at Asakusa Hanayashiki, Tokyo’s oldest amusement park, inviting 200 children and their caregivers to experience a night filled with fun, laughter, and joy.

Purpose of the Event

The Summer Smiles Event was born out of the need to support children recovering from trauma and abuse. According to statistics, more than 23,000 children reside in care facilities in Japan, with a significant percentage having encountered abuse. September 1st marks a concerning time of year, seeing a rise in tragically high youth suicide rates, which reinforces our belief in the importance of generating happy moments for these children. Our goal is to offer them a safe space for joy and connection.

Event Details

• - Location: Asakusa Hanayashiki, Taito, Tokyo
• - Date: Tuesday, July 29, 2025
• - Time: Open from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM
• - Participants: Up to 200 children from welfare facilities and their staff
• - Activities: Unlimited access to 15 rides, light meals, drinks, custom souvenirs, and workshops that include body art and balloon creations.

Funding the Event

To make this dream a reality, we will embark on a crowdfunding venture through CAMPFIRE for Social Good from May 17 to June 30, 2025. Our fundraising goal ranges between 970,000 to 1,620,000 Japanese yen depending on the number of children invited. Below is a breakdown of the costs:

• - 100 children: 870,000 yen (8,700 yen/person)
• - 150 children: 1,145,000 yen (7,633 yen/person)
• - 200 children: 1,420,000 yen (7,100 yen/person)

If we fall below our target, the event may need to shift to a general entry format within the park during normal operating hours.

Contributions and Rewards

We’re excited to offer various rewards for contributors, including:

• - 3,000 yen: Thank you email
• - 8,000 yen: Invite one child from the care facility to the park
• - 20,000 yen: Your name or logo featured on our website for 6 months

Each participation helps us make a difference in these children’s lives while also acknowledging the heartfelt contributions of our supporters.
