Denison Mines Announces Major High-Grade Mineral Discovery at Gryphon Uranium Project

Denison Mines Corp., a prominent player in the uranium sector, has made a groundbreaking announcement regarding its Gryphon uranium deposit in northern Saskatchewan. This discovery, which was revealed on July 16, 2025, highlights the identification of high-grade mineralization located approximately 40 meters beyond the previously defined mineralized zone associated with the D1 lens of the Gryphon deposit. Drill hole WR-837AD2, part of a delineation program conducted in the first half of 2025, recorded a significant intersection of 2.3 meters at 1.69% eU3O8, including a remarkable 0.5 meters at 5.48% eU3O8.

The exploration continues to excite the geological community, as this area remains open for expansion both down-plunge and along strike. Denison’s flagship project, which sits about 3 kilometers northwest of its Phoenix In-Situ Recovery mine, holds substantial potential given that the uranium industry is witnessing increasing demand due to the global shift toward sustainable energy sources. The delineation drilling carried out successfully this year is expected to bolster confidence in the previously estimated mineral resources. It has confirmed the geological interpretation of the deposit while yielding uranium grades consistent with anticipated values.

David Cates, Denison's President and CEO, praised the success of the 2025 delineation program for meeting all its key objectives. These included increasing the density of drill testing within the A1 high-grade domain and gathering vital geotechnical and hydrogeological data which will play a crucial role in future project evaluations. The company’s initiative is aimed at the exploration of areas beyond the mine design suggested by the 2023 Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS).

The Gryphon uranium deposit, initially discovered by Denison in 2014, is estimated to contain significant Indicated Mineral Resources — approximately 61.9 million pounds of U3O8 at an average grade of 1.7%. The D1 lenses have been identified as high-grade and structurally controlled, with little expansion of drilling since 2018, making this discovery even more notable.

The delineation program involved around 12,500 meters of diamond drilling across seventeen drill holes. This comprehensive effort confirmed current geological interpretations and enhanced the overall understanding of the mineral landscape. Significant rates were achieved, particularly in the high-grade A1 lens, indicating strong continuity within the primary lenses. In addition to the high-grade finds, the drilling program uncovered notable mineralization in the B and C lens series, which account for about 20% of the total estimated Indicated Mineral Resources.

Looking forward, Denison plans to pursue additional drilling in the areas identified for possible expansion based on these initial results. Geological, hydrogeological, and metallurgical studies are set to further evaluate and de-risk the Gryphon deposit, laying the groundwork for future underground mining operations that could rival the lowest-cost mining operations globally.

The Gryphon project is the largest undeveloped uranium initiative in the infrastructure-rich east of the Athabasca Basin, hosting high-grade deposits that are jointly managed with JCU (Canada) Exploration Company. Denison's commitment to follow through with the next steps post-discovery reflects its strategy to cement its position as a leader within the uranium mining industry, particularly at a time when the need for sustainable energy solutions is paramount.

In addition to extracting significant economic potential from Gryphon, Denison is actively pursuing the final stages of environmental assessment processes for its mining operations, reflecting its commitment to responsible resource development.
