ZREK Launches European Expansion with JETRO's Deep Tech Germany Mission

ZREK's European Expansion: A New Chapter in Manufacturing AI

ZREK, a Tokyo-based company focused on developing physical AI for manufacturing, has made a significant leap towards its European expansion by participating in the JETRO Yokohama's Deep Tech Germany Mission. This program aims to provide Japanese deep tech startups with essential insights, practical skills, and networking opportunities necessary for establishing themselves in the European market.

The Deep Tech Germany Mission

The Deep Tech Germany Mission organized by JETRO Yokohama offers participating companies a unique chance to gain firsthand knowledge of the European market. This program includes facility visits in Munich and participation in Bits & Pretzels, one of Europe's largest conferences aimed at enhancing market understanding and fostering collaboration opportunities.

From September 29 to October 2, 2025, ZREK took part in the Bits & Pretzels conference, where they engaged with major support organizations, universities, and potential collaborators. This event highlighted the increasing labor shortages resulting from declining populations, and ZREK's innovative solutions positioned them as a key player in addressing these issues through laboratory automation and collaborative robotics.

Strengthening Networks and Opportunities

During the mission, ZREK's team was able to build diverse networks with stakeholders including businesses, accelerators, universities, and research institutions around Munich. They gained invaluable insights into the industrial ecosystem present in sectors like automotive and chemicals, recognizing the abundant opportunities for their software and robotics technologies.

Ryo Eguchi, COO of ZREK and a participant in the program, shared his reflections: "With the support of JETRO Yokohama and Plug and Play Japan, we successfully established connections with various stakeholders. Experiencing the industrial foundation unique to manufacturing hubs like Munich made it clear that there are numerous areas where our software and robotics technology can be applied. As we move forward, we intend to continue our market research in NRW state, while focusing on building partnerships and a solid business foundation for our expansion in Europe."

Future Plans for ZREK

Looking ahead, ZREK is not only focusing on the European market but is also setting ambitious goals for the future, including autonomous production in space and on the lunar surface. Their development of AI and robotics is geared towards creating a highly productive and autonomous manufacturing environment.

In particular, ZREK is enhancing integrated solutions that combine safety control technologies with both software and hardware components, specifically targeting the realm of collaborative and humanoid robots. Their diverse range of AI solutions is poised to significantly contribute to the establishment of efficient and autonomous factories that meet the challenges of modern manufacturing.
