Registration Opens for the 26th Summer Stars Camp for the Performing Arts

Today marks the opening of registration for the renowned Summer Stars Camp for the Performing Arts, a flagship initiative of The Summer Stars Foundation, slated to take place from August 3-11, 2025, at the Northfield Mount Hermon School in Western Massachusetts. This unique camp experience, which has run continuously for the past 26 years, operates solely on donations and offers a completely free, device-less residential program for economically disadvantaged youth aged 12-17.

The Summer Stars Camp provides a transformative journey focused on self-discovery through the performing arts, emphasizing personal growth, confidence, and essential life skills. Campers engage in a variety of activities that nurture their creativity and leadership abilities alongside master teachers and working artists, ensuring a holistic approach to personal development. Skills such as problem-solving, risk-taking, and teamwork are fostered, thus equipping campers with vital tools they can use throughout their lives.

Honorary Event for Rob Goldman

In conjunction with the registration opening, a special fundraising event, the Campfire Cabaret, will be held on February 7, 2025, to honor Rob Goldman, the founding musical director of the camp. According to Donna Milani Luther, the Founding Director of The Summer Stars Foundation, Rob has been instrumental in shaping the camp's musical curriculum and teaching philosophy since its inception. He has contributed tirelessly to the program, instructing singing classes and orchestrating every musical number for the final performances over the years.

Donna lauded Rob's unparalleled dedication, stating, "His passion and commitment have positively influenced the lives of over 2,500 students, leaving an indelible mark on our organization and establishing him as a cornerstone of our community."

The Campfire Cabaret promises to showcase a day in the life of Camp, featuring performances from Summer Stars alumni as well as stories and songs from notable special guests. This year's line-up includes independent music artist Eph See, choreographer and performer Zanyah Dorfeuille, and award-winning artist Malik Mitchell—highlighted for their roots in the Summer Stars program.
