Offering support for up to 82 cores and 18TB of memory across two processor drawers, the systems exhibit a 20% increase in core count and a 12% enhancement in memory capacity compared to previous versions. For instance, the single processor configuration of IBM z17 ME2 provides full-speed IBM z/OS setups, delivering 10% higher throughput per core compared to its predecessor, the IBM z16 A02.

Clients now enjoy the flexibility to co-locate both IBM and non-IBM hardware to create installations tailored to their specific environments. The redesigned IBM z17 single frame system, for example, comes as a complete unit ready for deployment, allowing organizations to reclaim valuable space in their data centers.
