CompTIA Expands AI Training for Sales and Marketing
Downers Grove, IL – January 13, 2026 - In a bid to equip sales and marketing professionals with crucial skills in artificial intelligence (AI), CompTIA, the premier provider of vendor-neutral IT training and certification, has expanded its Essentials Series. The latest additions are two specialized courses:
AI Marketing Essentials and
AI Sales Essentials. These courses are designed to help individuals effectively utilize generative AI tools to enhance marketing strategies and optimize sales processes.
With businesses increasingly integrating AI into their operations, CompTIA's new offerings aim to address the challenges many organizations face. While a vast majority of companies recognize the potential of AI, a significant number struggle with proper implementation and effective usage. Katie Hoenicke, Chief Product Officer at CompTIA, emphasized, "AI tools are already present in many organizations, but are often underused, used inconsistently, or utilized without role-specific guidance. Our Essentials Series addresses these shortcomings by providing engaging, interactive learning experiences tailored to specific job roles."
The two newly launched courses guide professionals through the effective application of AI in various facets of their work. For
marketing professionals, the course encompasses areas like digital marketing strategies, effective content creation, advertising, and advanced analytics. For those in
sales, the training includes vital skills such as prospect research, personalized outreach, call planning, CRM automation, and proposal drafting.
Each course runs between four to six hours and culminates in a competency assessment designed to evaluate the skills acquired—not just whether the course was completed. Successful candidates will earn a
CompTIA CompCert (Competency Certificate), affirming their proficiency in responsible AI practices.
The introduction of these courses reflects CompTIA's ongoing commitment to enhancing the professional landscape for tech workers. Recent company studies show a growing appetite for AI-specific training within organizations, with 94% of companies indicating a likelihood to invest in this type of education this year alone. This trend underscores the urgent need for training that aligns AI technology with workforce requirements, ensuring that employees are proficient and able to utilize tools that can significantly impact their roles.
CompTIA also plans to release three additional role-based AI courses in the first half of 2026, targeting essential roles such as AI Help Desk, AI Finance, and AI Customer Support. This expansion reflects CompTIA’s strategy to close the gap between technology development and its practical application in the workplace.
With a focus on maintaining high standards of education, the
AI Essentials courses are designed around a research-based framework. This meticulous approach aids in knowledge retention and equips learners with the ability to immediately apply their new skills to real-world scenarios pertinent to their jobs—a differentiator that sets CompTIA training apart from other educational offerings.
As organizations continue to face both opportunities and challenges in the implementation of AI tools, CompTIA’s tailored training solutions stand out as a beacon for those seeking to harness technology effectively. The launch of the
Essentials Series not only aims to fuel professional growth but also emphasizes responsible application and successful adoption of AI in the ever-evolving landscape of business practices.
