On July 29, 2025, FamilyMart will release its newest wine under the popular private brand, Gisto. The Gisto Reserva Barrel Selected is priced at ¥999 (tax included ¥1,098) and is set to be available at about 15,700 FamilyMart stores across Japan. This launch is part of a broader initiative by FamilyMart to provide products that create joy for customers.

A Celebration of Quality and Flavor


The Gisto brand saw immense success with the 2023 release of Gisto Gran Reserva, which was widely recognized for its excellent taste and exceptional cost-performance. Such success paved the way for the launch of the Gisto Reserva Barrel Selected, an impressive addition to this popular line. This new wine features 100% Tempranillo grapes, a variety synonymous with the best of Spanish wines and harvest from 2018.

Extensive Aging Process for Unique Character


What sets the Gisto Reserva Barrel Selected apart is its meticulous aging process. The wine has undergone a total aging of around three years, including 18 months in American and French oak barrels. This careful aging bestows delicate flavors and aromas of cassis, blackberry, cacao, and coffee, culminating in a taste experience that balances vibrant acidity with rich, long-lasting flavors.

The label design echoes the quality within, featuring an elegant black theme that suggests sophistication and luxury.

Collaboration with 'Kami no Shizuku'


As part of the release, FamilyMart is excited to collaborate with the celebrated wine-focused manga series 'Kami no Shizuku'. Starting on the launch day, a special video exploring the world of Gisto Reserva will be featured on 'FamilyMart Vision', which operates in around 10,000 locations nationwide. The creator of the manga, Naoki Aki, was invited to sample the wine ahead of its release and praised it as a wine that captures the essence of time.
